Report: Seahawks cut Super Bowl star WR Matthews

Can't be worse than Dobson, right? I like Dobson. I really do. I just wish I didn't need a defibrillator nearby when he's catching the ball. Even when he catches it, it looks like the most difficult catch ever

Interestingly, Dobson came with the reputation of not dropping balls.

Dobson is an NFL wide receiver despite the hate he gets on this forum and Chris Mathews is a arena football player who caught a couple passes in the super bowl.
True for now. Either or both of those are subject to change in the near future.

Martin doesn't have 5 catches as a patriot. Dobson has near 50 with Brady. Martin is not in any universe even remotely close to Dobson as a patriot.

And Martin has missed several games with a bad hammy.
shhhh, the Dobson haters have decided Chris harper is clearly better and he hasn't even taken an NFL snap.

....Chris Mathews is a arena football player who caught a couple passes in the super bowl.

That Curt 'The Jackass' Warner also played arena football, yet got to take his team to 2 SBs. What's your point?

Chris Mathews isnt very good, I think thats pretty clear.

This Edelman injury opens up quite an opportunity for Aaron Dobson to show his stuff. I am getting sick of all the excuses for him. It's put up or shut up time for him personally.

Sounds awfully tempting but I would rather a capable*Third* Down RB at this point in time. I cannot see Matthews learning our PlayBook this late in the game.
If you listened to the tenor in Brady's voice when asked in WEEI if a WR could come in this late and learn the playbook, he gave a really benignly exasperated response as if it were laughably impossible. So I don't see any WR who hasn't been in the system coming on board.

That "isn't very good" player almost cost us the Superbowl... It would be safe to assume he would have ended up being the Superbowl MVP had Seattle won.

Actually from his Draft bio there is a notion that Chris Harper would excell from the Slot he has a quick twitch game similar to Edelman and Amendola. More times than not Slot Receivers have a easier time adjusting in the Pros rather than pure outside Receivers like Dobson.

he had a good game, but outside of that one game he has caught four passes. Seattle isnt overflowing with Wide receiver talent and he just got waived.

im sure its possible but we have nothing to back that up right now, if he is good then im sure that will emerge but again he has played zero snaps in the NFL.

This forum has gotten more than a few players wrong ...

Assante Samuel early hate ... Shane Vareen early hate ... there's a start of a list.

So did someone put in a claim for Matthews? I think we have a free Spot on our PS.

Why do I care what other teams think? There's a big list a successful Patriot players that other teams didn't want.

That doesn't mean every player that teams don't want would be good here, the patriots havent shown any interest in Mathews so I don't see any reason to believe they like him. The guy is maybe a practice squad candidate somewhere

There are no excuses for Dobson this year. Hes had some moments but either hasn't seen the field or hasn't been thrown the ball.

I would expect that he is not with the team next year or a long shot to make it.

I never indicated that he necessarily would be good here, only that I want him in for a workout. If we could develop him that would be a great thing.

This forum isn't a monolith, although it's overwhelmingly homer. Pretty much every player has his supporters and detractors, from day one.

And, your argument, "this forum has gotten more than a few players wrong ..."

Could also go in the other direction:

Ras-I Dowling is an obvious example.

And, after all, "this forum" has also gotten more than a few players right ...
