So, Fauria, Greenwood, and Vereen were added to the PS.. Ventrone and McDonald were cut.. That leaves the Pats full. Wonder if they actually bring Barker back or if they cut one of the 3 OL on the PS to bring him back..

Yes. CB Chris Greenwood also added. Dewey McDonald also released - quick fall from 53 man roster to not even on the practice squad.

I expect another move will come once Chris Barker clears waivers and they resign him to the practice squad.
Quick take on Greenwood. 4 teams in 3 years

Chris Greenwood Scouting Report

Greenwood also played at 3 different colleges..
Supposedly a low-key guy who doesn't seek the spotlight. Left Albion with the respect of the entire coaching staff.. Was the D3 equivalent of a shut-down corner.

The fellah has been around.

Could mean a number of things.. Both positive and negative..

Let's see..
Drafted by Detroit, released and signed to their Practice Squad.
Signed by Dallas and then released after 2 weeks.
Signed by Minnesota to their Practice squad.
Signed by the Ravens to their pro-roster.
IRed then released with an injury settlement by the Ravens to start the season..

I'm not aware of anything negative about him. 3 colleges and 4 pro teams is just seems nomadic to me. The 4 pro teams not so much. DET is a mess. BAL has CB issues all over the place and are impatient. Who know what is going on in DAL and MN...well they seem to be going on the right direction.

Small college. Probably needs a good organization. Interesting to see what Mr. Melvins' going to do, they both fit that big CB role.

He really never panned out for Chicago, they had hopes for him to be a solid player.

Could be a good reclamation project. Would be nice to find another overlooked CB from the scrap heap.

Liked these quotes from that scouting report:
National Football Post:
... Doesn't do a great job identifying routes and is too often slow to reach the receiver out of his breaks.
SI.com:
...Effectively reads and diagnoses the action, {...}, relatively instinctive and easily runs with opponents in every area of the field. Displays a good degree of explosion in his game, has a burst to the ball and effectively times or anticipates pass defenses. ...

Are they both talking about the same guy?

Mr. Melvin might be feeling some heat, after he was burned a couple of times on Sunday playing loose coverage.

Classic BB, couple of guys make mistakes on Sunday and all of a sudden they have competition to worry about. We saw what Chandler and Melvin did with their opportunities, now let's see what Fauria and Greenwood do with theirs. They can all look to Butler for a good model of what to expect if they take advantage of the opportunities they're given.

Shane Vereen wanted the Pats to draft his brother. I guess he kinda eventually got his wish. Brock is a Patriot, just a year too late.

Coleman is absent from practice which might have lead to the Greenwood signing.

Hopefully, one of the guys can add something to our secondary, after watching our corners on sunday, there seems to be quite a drop off after Butler and Ryan.
Can't believe I'm saying a drop off after Ryan, after last year I didn't think that was possible lol

Doubt its much bigger then going from Beckham and crew > Watkins and screwed..

So we just convert Brock to RB and keep on truckin'... Dion Lewis who? BB playing chess etc

Jury is still out on Melvin but he had some tough plays Sunday..

You need manx now he was high on Vereen as SS/LB hybrid.
I never saw him as a hybrid player but thought he suited the team as a pure safety because he seemed like the Patriot type because of his football intelligence. I'm pleased with the signing. I wasn't the only one though. I went back and had a look at the annual draft contest for that year. Lots of people had Vereen amongst their choices.

Lots of people but not PC ? Mean he would be Pats draft pick if so right ? ;)
