We're 9-0 and I'm a bit in awe

I have to disagree here...I am most definitely concerned with 19-0 just as much as another SB

If our chances to win the SB were at 60% without 16-0 but at 50% with 16-0 I'll take the latter

Winning the SB is paramount, but there's a SB winner every year, I hope if we get to 14-0 bill keeps the pedal to the metal and let the chips fall where they may

Both he, Brady, and us the fans deserve 19-0 after the way it slipped through last time, and for having to put up with the ******** that was spygate and deflategate

And the idiot commish and other teams/fans would hate nothing more than to see the patriots achieve this feat

My prediction last season was for the NEP to achieve two amazing milestones in the last three years of Brady's and possibly BBs careers:
1. Win three straight super bowls which has never been done before and were a third of the way there
2. Go 19-0 in one of those three seasons

And let the jealousy and lamented moans of "cheaters" fall exactly where they belong: the realm of losers

I'm not saying the stat is true, but you'd be crazy not to take a 10pct better chance to win. He sat Brady, Gronk and Edelman last year, and others. How did that work out?

I "get" a lot of the sentiments expressed in this thread, but it's way too early to be thinking about 19--0 vs. 18--1 and whether first or second seed is OK or whatever...

Buffalo is coming into Foxboro off a big win in New Jersey with nearly two weeks' rest (Thursday to Monday). They're now ahead of the Jets in the Wild Card race and Rex is thinking that he can take this team to the Playoffs.

Too many folks on this Board (not necessarily in this thread) are talking about Osweiler, Peyton and the game in Denver.

I'm sure that BB and TB are focused only on Buffalo and how they handle a Rex Ryan defense with a makeshift O Line and the loss of Lewis and Jules since the last time we played them.

To coin a phrase, "We're on to Buffalo."

I'm sure they are -- as they should be.

However, we are not on the team and so are not obligated in any way to take things a game at a time and thus are completely and totally free to speculate, hope, look ahead, whatever.

So I really never have been unable to understand the "how dare people on this board look ahead" complaint.

just superstitious i guess. not judgmental. sorry if it came across that way. too many bad memories of how confident we were when the pats were 14 point favorites to go 19--0...

Speak for yourself :). I had a horrible feeling all that week and if (a) I could place a legal bet, and (b) I could stomach/live with myself for betting against NE, I would have bet NYG+14 in a heartbeat for that game.

What amazes me is that, Brady didn't need to have a good game to beat the Giants. The defense saved him. Brady was eager to give the game to the Giants (Thank God, for that dropped INT), but his defense denied him the opportunity. I'm still going to trash the secondary throughout the season, except Butler, but I guess I should stop hoping that they are going to turn into the Legion of Boom, back when they actually were worthy of the title. They are what they are and I guess that is good enough to get the job done. I thought the NYG game would be our only loss of the season but they have surpassed my expectations, but I never imagined Edelman going out for the season.

I'm not going to lie, I'm worried about this Buffalo game, now that Edelman is out.

"How to stop the Buffalo Bills"

Chapter 1: Stuff the run.
Chapter 2: Make Tyrod Taylor throw from the pocket.
Chapter 3: Make Tyrod Taylor throw more than 12 times.

This is why people aren't particularly concerned about Buffalo.

I get what you're saying but buffalo did not play well at all against the Jets and that d-line has been pretty pedestrian. Obviously the pats need and will take this game very seriously but the bills aren't exactly world beaters

Right tackles this season. Volmer, Cannon, Flemming, Stork and Barker. Yes that's the Chris Barker just promoted from the PS for the game. When Mason was used at FB, Stork went to LG and Barker filled in on right tackle. This was strictly a short yardage, goal line run package but it was interesting to see how Barker was used.

Winning is more important then ever, as the bye week is more important than ever..

This team needs some healing time before the "tournament".... otoh Houston may have provided the "blueprint" for how to deal with "Red Ryder's" team... Andy is really, really mad.

When I sit back and wonder if it was finished at KC last year, I disgust myself. Since BB took over, this team never fails to surprise.
Well, in the 23 games they've played since then (excluding Buffalo), they've won 22.

Not bad, but really should have taken care of business against Green Bay.

Actually, it's too bad they didn't try (you know) against the Bills that last game. Their 12 game winning streak would be 16. I don't care much about records, but I do love those gaudy team runs.

Would that be the Buffalo that got beat by the Jag's in London a couple weeks ago?

I'm glad the coaches and players won't be taking Rex's team lightly, but try as I may I'm having trouble mustering concern there's actually much substance behind all the bluster in Buffalo. Guess we'll find out on Monday.

Yeah, you're probably right. But Vegas only has the Pats as seven point favorites at Home against that team when they were seven point favorites on the Road against the Giants last week. So, somebody thinks this game has the potential to be competitive. But, you're probably right.

That's reflecting bettor sentiment over the loss of Edelman. Might be a good time to go with the Pats and the spread.
