I am the least PC person in the world.......That being said....Ask any kid with red hair the verbal abuse they have had to deal with all their life. Socially, they live with a stigma that has yet to be confronted by the PC police and I absolutely believe Dalton is sensitive about the label and views it as mean spirited stereotyping. I agree with him. Tagging someone with the label "red" or "ginger" etc. is the equivalent of bullying and there is no room in our society for petty attacks.
My son had a coach that openly referred to a red-headed player as "ginger" and the result was the other players adopted the same name. You could visibly see how this nickname deflated the kid every time it was spoken. I confronted the coach and gave him the choice of rectifying the problem he created or letting the school administration handle what I considered, at a bare minimum, bullying. The coach was ignorant but not a fool and he wisely did a 180 and changed his ways and had a sit down with the players he corrupted.
Regarding Watt.......IMO....an example of an unfiltered "dumb jock" culture gone unchallenged for too long. I just wish Dalton was more forthcoming regarding his irritation instead of dancing on the edges.
Just my two cents.

Dalton is known as the "Red Rifle" is he not? I always assumed this nickname was on account of his red hair. This dust up with Watt now has me second guessing that assumption. Perhaps "Red Rifle" isn't about red hair at all and Andy Dalton is really a Russian Spy!!!

well, from now on I'm afraid iddle widdle Andy will be known as the Red Rectum...for obvious reasons

The rookie didnt do anything to mock or disrespect the texans .There was no reason for watt to go after him after a win. These guys came wearting letterman jackets to a pats game and the following year nicknamed the pats game in houston 'homecoming' . When they win they yap but then disappear when they lose.

It's a rookie QB that is super preoccupied with selfies. So preoccupied in fact, that he's apparently the King of Selfies or whatever and he's taking them before games and posting them on social media.

Apparently Watt was annoyed that a rookie QB about to make his first start was more preoccupied with selfies than preparing for the game. So he said this isn't high school (because High School kids love taking selfies more than adults do), this is the NFL, welcome to the league.

There's nothing wrong with that. Honestly, you're just overreacting.

You have your opinions and I have mine. Lets leave it at that. You like watt , iam not a big fan. Thanks

Watt's annoying as hell and I'd tell it to him right in front of his ***** tits!

I was just thanking the other day that you haven't stalked me in quite some time. Guess the itch came back, huh, Sweetie? GFY...LOL...

I get a bit of a tryhard "everyone come see how badass I am!" vibe from Watt, but that's not exactly the worst thing in the world. I'm fine with people saying pretty much whatever they want as long as their play backs it up.

I think his whole shtick is a little transparent, but it doesn't really bug me or anything.

The finger wag is showing homage to Dikembe Mutumbo. Every time Dikembe blocked a shot, he would do the finger wag. Every time JJ blocks a pass, he does the finger wag.

It's not a big deal, really.

I'm pretty sure Cam has reasons for his antics as well. Doesn't make it any less douchy.

Isn't ginger simply a term to describe a red head? How is that stereo typing? If it's bumming a kid out, sure, don't call him that, but it seems a harmless description to me. Are there negative connotations besides just red hair that the word implies? If there aren't, why would anybody be offended when reminded of the color of their hair?

That's fair.

Don't think you can really compare finger wagging to say, stealing a banner. Or stealing a laptop for that matter.

You mean instances like when Edelman held up a fan-made meme of Sherman then punched it or when Blount pretty much called Marshawn Lynch "***** mode". Instances like that? They're athletes, man. They talk ****. Some do it off field more than on, others vice versa, and some others do both. My point stands. The comment was about as innocuous as it gets and it's hard for me to believe you would take issue with this if Watt was a Patriot.

Re: Edelman, apples and oranges. Sherman is loud and obnoxious, and practically asks for it. Jules didn't get up on that duckboat with the intent to trash **** Sherman. A fan held up a sign, he took it, and reacted. Besides, he'd just won the Super Bowl. Watt beat a team known to fold under pressure, in the regular season, to raise his teams record to a game below .500.

first I've heard about the blount thing. don't know the story behind that...

true. but I was talking about cam's annoying on field celebrations.

I don't understand everyone's problem with JJ Watt. Maybe it's because I don't watch the pre-game show and then turn it off immediately after it's over.

Has Watt raised enough money to build a hospital in a Third-World country?

I'm not sure that imitating just the obnoxious side of Dikembe is a great look ...

just heard dalton's response. didn't do himself any favors, at all. if he'd have just taken the Brady approach, he could have let watt's behavior speak for itself. but nope, Dalton had to Dalt.

Me personally I don't really care about celebrations, unless they're down like 47-7 and the losing team has a player score a td and they celebrate. You're getting your asses kicked, why are you celebrating?

Guess it's more of an eye of the beholder type deal.

He's the best defensive player of this generation. Who cares if he wags his finger? He deserves it.

Sherman being loud is irrelevant. Edelman still talked **** and still talks **** to this day. Certain people are trashing Watt when Edelman is the same type of player.

Titans QB?

And you do realize the Texans have had crap at QB for a while now, right?

Why does that matter? The hit he put on the rookie QB Mettenberger that took him out last year was as dirty as it gets. It was late and low.

I also remember him pulling his late hit crap with Brady a couple of seasons ago, coming after him long after the pass was gone and acting like he didn't know it was gone. Luckily, Brady was able to withstand the pounding.

As for Watt's comment about Dalton, it seems like it was a scripted moment, but it wasn't a big deal until red red pecker head brought attention to it. :D
