Now, imagine if we traded for Jason McCourty! How good we could've been! And suddenly, this happened.....

Using that logic, they should have traded Edelman and Lewis.

I wasn't implying that he still would've gotten hurt. More so how much it would've stung for this to happen and get our hopes up.

My apologies for misunderstanding your point. I will now go to the penalty box and feel shame.

Yeah, the Redskins Offense really looked awful when the Pats held them to 10 points in week 9, but I think we should be getting out of the habit of always discrediting the opponent before crediting the Patriots D. That same Redskins Offense, one week later, racked up 47 points and 526 yards against the Saints. Yeah, the Saints Defense stinks too. :p

Over the past few years, the likes of Geno Smith, and Case Keenum have managed to put up over 30 points on the Pats D.

That Saints D might be the worst D I've ever seen.

Even worse than the Lions in 2008.

With another NFL week behind us, the Patriots are currently

#4 in scoring defense
#2 in sacks
#11 in opposing QB rating
#12 in passing yards allowed per attempt
#11 in rushing yards allowed per attempt.

Did anyone else see that stat pop up during the giants game that something like 14 or 15 of the Pats sacks have come on 3rd down which I think it said it was either #1 or #3 in the league.

our D sucks lol
Little off the subject but with you being a Saints fan I'm going to ask you a little trivia here, do you remember Fred Thomas?

Holy crap, this thread is still alive?

I remembered him well in particular. Remembered those Saints teams back in the early mid- 2000's for having a lot of offense but not much defense. He even has a YouTube video called the worst CB in NFL history. Just let him be a reminder that it could always be worse!

Oh I think since the Dome patrol in the 80's early 90's we always had pretty bad defenses. I think your thinking of Aaron Brooks who put points on the board but was religious about throwing interceptions in the red zone. We used to call the field Thomas covered the sweet spot or 7pts, lol, omg he got bad. I still dont think there has been a worst defence than NO since 2006-20015. I might run the numbers some day, but pretty amazing what Brees has done with such a handycap. Im fairly confident in saying Saints probably cost Brees one more ring in his career, but also made alot of his stats because he was always forced to perform at a high level to win games with 30-35 min pionts. Its why we lose road games on turf alot because offense can only put up the NFL norm 24pts but the defense is even worse or the same which is pretty bad. People keep saying NO offense is a bad road team, not exactly true. They can put up 24pts. That should be enouph, but the defense falls apart. We have lost every playoff because the defence folded.

The difference between the #11-12 figures and the #4 probably stems mainly from two things:
  • Red zone execution (which is to the credit of the defense).
  • Starting field position (which is to the credit, mainly, of the other two units).
