I'm on that forum and have been for YEARS, but I was at the game last year and it meant something to me for different reasons even if it was completely meaningless to most of you and other football fans. I don't really see anybody bragging about it except i gues if you interpret the O.P.'s post as bragging....

that would've been my 3rd bills-pats game in NE with my late father-in-law who was an avid pats fan. he was tragically killed in a vehicle accident months prior to that game so my wife came with me for the first time and we had a blast and enjoyed the game.

you have a lot of fans who suffered through some pretty miserable years like we do, I remember when the bills were good so I'm with the lucky few.... it was nice to get our first win especially given my circumstances.

Welcome to the forum. I agree that there's no bragging there. Some fans are extra sensitive.

The bills offense is horrible. If we can stop the run and Butler can neutralize sammy watkins then we win. because they wont score enough points.

are people really cowering in fear over this game?

Wicked Thoughts on the game vs The Williams...

Bills having 10 day rest means nada. We've had 8 days "rest" and are playing at home while Bills have to travel. A wash if not advantage Pats.

On D, our run D is greatly improved. This will help our pass D which is also better with the starting experience of our 2 corners. As long as Melvin doesn't have to cover the slot receiver, we're good. Remember BB has several games of 2016 Bills to study this time...big advantage Pats.
Big question is does Collins return or not?

Offense: losing The Squirrel is a major hit because it enables double or more coverage on Gronk. Chandler needs to catch his targets. I expect that my man HAApaah! will play a Squirrel role as I'd predicted earlier this week. Whats-his-name may still be out with the hammy, otherwise why promote Harper to the 53?

Lost in all the Squirrel furor is the fact that vs the 1st game we've also lost Lewis. It's key for Solder (EDIT: VOLLMER) to return. We'll get a read on that today with the Wednesday practice report. If not, I start working about when and darker scenarios.

Bottom line: I expect a better performance from the D especially if Collins returns. I also expect the offense to struggle more but prevail in the end. After all, the game is in Foxborrow.

If Amendola moves up to "replace" Edelman then who do you think they'll use for the DA role?

Amendola, technically speaking, isn't going to replace Edelman. He's going to stay in the slot where he has always been.

It's either Dobson or Martin that's going to replace Edelman at the Z position.

It's either Dobson or Martin (likely Martin) that has to step up to the challenge.

You mean Vollmer.

Love having Chris Harper back on the 53 the question now is can he take the punishment over the middle?? I hope he added some bulk over the last month and a half. Harper does have some Edelmanlike moves.

Because of injuries the offense is no longer playing to its strength.....quick hits.....and we've seen the impact the past 6 quarters of play. The automatic option is no longer available for Brady and he is forced to wait and allow patterns and develop and then assess the risk. This "new norm" has led to strip sacks, INT(s), and deep throws. And despite a few big connections last week, Brady hasn't necessarily been on target and the timing hasn't been precise (late)......not a TB12 strength IMO.

For Monday night, I'd like to see two things. Get at least one OT back and get the play action working. Wrecks will be attacking the make-shift O line and pressing the WRs daring Brady to chuck it deep......I know I would. If NE can show some ground game success and then deploy play action, this should open up some space in the middle. If I was Wrecks, my instructions would be to live or die ignoring play action and stick like glue to Gronk and DA. At some point you expect Wrecks to get blitz happy and Brady will need to exploit these opportunities and locate the open option.

Big strategy/wit-matching game plan coming...I'm hoping NE has enough weapons on offense to keep Buffalo off balance. This requires a Charlie Weiss type game plan.....an OC who managed to piece together his island of misfit toys and vary the play calls enough to keep the opposition guessing.

Definitely need to do a better job stopping the run then last time. Their offensive line's not that great. Get pressure.

Last year against Buffalo they let an unknown, aka. Tyms, streak to the end zone for a long TD.

Let's hope they let Brady welcome Harper to the NFL the same way.

Buffalo is always a great game to make a name for yourself and then immediately become a nobody the following week or two later, except this isn't the last 15yrs of buffalo showing up in new england.... rex has more experience with bill than all of the previous coaches combined (maybe not but it sounds good). you're coach lost a little self control in the first game, he's lost some self control in a previous bills game (clock mismanagement and self destruction at end of game). the amount shenanigans that's permitted will be a big factor. if buffalo can't touch a receiver.... you win... if buffalo can treat your receivers like washington treated ours in the super bowl we were physically beaten to death in.... it's a close game.

i think if new england wins, they run the ball well and use the two statues (gronk and chandler) in 3rd downs and well designed plays.... this one i think is won in the trenches if the refs let the bills negate the wideouts

Dude, I can totally relate. My dad passed away last July... huge Pats fan... he would have enjoyed last season immensely.

And the first Pats game he and I ever went to was in Foxboro in 1977... against the Bills. OJ was out, and they had some guy named Roland Hooks... who ran for 160 yards as the Bills creamed us. LOL

We were sitting near some VERY loud (and possibly intoxicated ;)) Bills fans who were yelling, "Let's go, Buffalo! Let's go, Buffalo!" Henceforth, whenever the Bills were coming up on the schedule, one of us would call the other and say, "Let's go, Buffalo!" LOL

May God rest and keep your father in law's immortal soul. And good luck to the Bills! (except for this week. Heh.) :)

thank you. the old time pats fans here are super fun to talk to because every time they're like... yeah, we know what it's like and there's an entire generation of pats fans (coming from a pats fan) who have no idea what it's like to be a bills fan... but don't worry... a lot of us do and root for you quietly on other weekends... LOL. You can have a reasonable conversation with these people (and hopefully bills fans like me and other fans). it was a special day for sure.

Last time rex didnt blitz a lot i think. I think without edelman and lewis , he is going to blitz a lot. From the looks of how the pats played the giants after edelman went out, I think we will see a lot of deep passing/vertical game plan for the pats for the next few games. Dont know how it fits if they blitz us a lot.

Patriots offense preparing for impressive Buffalo Bills rookie CB Ronald Darby

Darby has turned into one of the top cornerbacks in the league with an NFL leading 18 passes defensed, which is a Buffalo rookie record.

"He is making plays," fellow Bills cornerback Stephon Gilmore said on Tuesday in a conference call. "When he is patient, even when he is not patient he has got the speed to make up. That is what makes him so good. But he is patient and he is making plays."

In September, Darby was named NFL Defensive Rookie of the Month and is just six passes defensed short of a franchise record of 24.

In comparison, Patriots corner Malcolm Bulter leads New England with 11 passes defensed.

Meanwhile, Darby has gained plenty of experience in his first 10 weeks in the NFL playing 88 percent of the team's snaps on defense. He's totaled 47 tackles and snagged two interceptions.
