theScore - Report: Peyton Manning has torn plantar fascia in right foot

TBH Manning with two weeks rest might be able to play decently like he did against the Packers. And now without Edelman I'm worried about how well we can move the ball on that defense.

Yep, he could go from being historically bad to just horrible...scaaaaarrrry.

There is absolutely nothing to worry about vs Denver. Indy and KC were able to move the ball on them. Even with our injuries, our offense is still far better than KC's. Denver's defense has already started their annual decline.

Our defense will hold them to 10 points or less.

I disagree. I hope manning plays against us. Just take away the short stuff and he's cooked.

Peyton missing this coming game. I wanna give 1 quick thought.

Manning's best game of the year was easily the game right after the bye when he had 2 weeks to rest.

I think this "injury" is mostly BS but we will see.. My thought is if Manning rest his body this week and plays next week could he do something close to what he did in that Packers game?

If he can this game is gonna be really tough. But we will see.

People are making too much of Peyton's best game coming after the bye.

Peyton's best game came against a team that lost two of their CBs early in the game, and lost Clay Matthews shortly after that. The same team that just lost their 3rd consecutive game to Detroit at home.

The game on the 29th won't be close.

more worried about denver's defense..
hopefully the league suspends that scumbag tj ward for two games. POS will try to take out gronk's knees.

Road games against teams with winning records should never be taken lightly.

By the team, sure. They should approach every game the same way.

As a fan (who has watched every Denver game) I see absolutely nothing that would cause me concern. Several weeks ago you could have said their pass rush would be an issue - but that is no longer the case. Their pass rush has been nonexistent in the last couple of games. This happens every year with that team, and with Phillips defenses in general. They decline in the second half of the season.

I think people declaring the Manning of old back after the Packers game was most indicative of how far his performance has fallen. 21-29 for 340 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT is not all that impressive. It's a surprisingly efficient game from a bad QB or a surprisingly ineffective game from a good one, but that's it. If Brady put up that stat line, it would be his worst game of the year. In years past, it would be a bad game for Manning. But because "meh" was such an improvement from his previous games, people acted like it was a big deal and he was back.

Kinda sad. It's like if Kobe goes out and scores 25 points on 10-25 shooting while playing zero defense and everyone goes nuts saying "He's back! Just as good as ever!"

People are still making those excuses for Peyton, they've just changed a bit. Coach is still getting thrown under the bus: we saw it with Jon Fox getting fired, and we're seeing it now with people complaining that Kubiak won't abandon everything he knows to suit the few things Peyton can still do. Meanwhile, it's pretty clear that Fox wasn't the problem, based on what he's doing this year in Chicago. He's keeping that team afloat and putting Cutler in a position to look capable, even with Marshall gone and Jeffery missing a ton of time. Took him all of one offseason to turn one of the most dysfunctional organizations in the league into a competitive, respectable outfit.

The one caveat there is that DeMarcus Ware missed both games. He's a huge part of their D, and if they're resting him now to make sure he's healthy against the Pats, that give us a much bigger challenge. Although if that was the plan, it probably wasn't a good one. In the process of resting him, they've dropped enough games that even winning against us likely won't be enough if the Pats take care of business elsewhere.

I don't want to see him go out like this. First, I want to beat him again! But after that, I really wanted to see him end his career gracefully.

Ware's back issue isn't going to go away any time soon. Even if he plays, it's highly unlikely he returns to playing at the same level as he did through the first 6 or 7 games. We've seen this before with him.

Not to be argumentative :D, but I wouldn't call 340/0/1 a great game.

I know, when Brady's 334 2/1 is called a bad game!

My thoughts exactly. Brady wants to play for a long time but I hope he goes out on top and not play for 5 teams until no one wants him like jerry rice.

There's no way Brady goes out on top. Considering he's spent his entire football career proving one doubter after another wrong. It's going to take a lot of convincing for him to believe it when they're eventually right.
