Patriots New Wide Receiver Profile, Chris Harper

Steve Balestrieri

Chris Harper from Cal, is a slightly undersized, wiry slot wide receiver who shows good ability to make defenders miss and has good special teams ability.

With Edelman out for several weeks.... it's time we promote Harper from PS

Could see it happening but only when 2 of the 3 OL get back so they can cut Barker for the roster spot.

Dobson mania shall begin!!!

I'd like to see Harper instead of a 3rd down back right now. Can prob do both once our OL gets healthy. Can drop 9th guy Barker when we have Vollmer and Cannon on the field with Fleming backing them up.

I think Harper has talent. The Pats just raised his PS salary so they obviously see something in him. He could be a pleasant surprise with Edelman going down.

If you bring Harper up you probably have to keep him. I don't think he makes it back onto our PS if we cut him from the 53.

Which shouldn't be a big problem IMO. If Edelman ends up being completely done this year, you leave Harper up. If he comes back for the playoffs, I'm okay risking losing him for an Edelman playoff run. I liked what I saw from Harper in PS, but he's not a guy who's loss would keep me up at night.

This guy just reminds of Keenan Allen.

Will he be as good? Most likely not, but I'd love to see the kid get his shot.

Well any team can make him an offer to the 53-man roster currently.
If the team brings him up, but needs another roster spot, then that replacement is probably more valuable.
I don't think that risk would really impact a decision on a promotion.

Probably more useful as a kick returner. Amendola's going to get worn the f out.

I disagree on needing Harper.

DA, Dobson, Martin, LaFell are your WRs. That is fine.

White and Bolden were useless yesterday. That was the perfect defense to have a RB come out of the backfield to do some damage with.

I think they need to give TB12 a speedy threat back there that can make some plays in space and help LB with some rest. Not sure if he is a 20 carry a RB guy every game...

If Keshawn Martin is healthy he ll play ahead of Harper.
