Edelman: Broken Foot, Likely Back for Playoffs

Although the return timeline isn't typical, I looked it up online and Marcellus Wiley returned 3 weeks after surgery for a Jones fracture and had a Pro Bowl season in 2001.

One of the concerns here is that before Lewis and JE went down, DA was the 4th option... Now he follows only Gronk (unless LaFell plans on ascending even more).

As long as it's not season-ending and he can be back for the playoffs, it's manageable. "Undefeated" isn't important, they've got a 2-game lead on Denver for 1st round bye right now which is really all that's important. If they can get Martin back from his hamstring injury soon, that'll help a lot. Also, Dobson was getting open tonight - if he can get some more repetitions with Edelman out, maybe he can start producing somewhat. Calling up Harper would be sweet too, but that could be my personal bias speaking. Kid might not be pro-ready quite yet.

Knowing BB, he and Mac have already started their game plan for Bills next Mon.night.

He can be back for the playoffs if handled right

do you EVER look at things glass half full? EVER? jeezus krist...look, the same exact injury happened to Dez Bryant...6 weeks later he was back in the lineup. Stop with the negativity, looking for the negativity, promoting the negativity, glorifying the negativity like you win some kind of friggin' prize if your worst fears come true.

Man I never agree with you but you are absolutely right here. SVN's posts since the summer have ALWAYS been like this.

This sucks. It would be nice if the pats could get through a week without their players suffering major injuries.

Is he eligible for that temporary IR status?

What truly worries me is how will be handled Edelman's rehabilitation. This estimation is great and all, but I can't shake the feeling that he will be rushed into play, even if he comes back for Play Offs only.

This is an incredibly frustrating season. We have all the piece to win the SB again. But we had hits on extremely important pieces.

Bottom Line: What we will accomplish this season, either winning it all or not, depends on how healthy we are during the playoffs. If we have to go through with a banged up O-Line, banged up Edelman, already without Lewis, Solder and T. Brown (I would LOVE to see him out there, instead of Coleman and Melvin, specially), I don't see us winning, IMHO.

If only the O-line gets back in one piece until then and we stop losing key players, I still say we are one of the best three teams in the NFL (Counting the injured ones, we are bar none)

Could have been worse, could have been lis-franc, most likely he's back for the first playoff game.

People keep saying we need another slot guy. JE was outside and slot.

Martin seems to have that ability but who knows.

One of the concerns here is that before Lewis and JE went down, DA was the 4th option... Now he follows only Gronk (unless LaFell plans on ascending even more).
When the offensive line gets healthy expect Lafell's numbers to improve.
