NY Post article on Patriots Dynasty

Over the years, my reaction to these articles has always been that we KNOW what it was like. We had one of those teams for most of my life. It's been so long, though, that there are a lot of Patriots fans who do not know.

I don't think Woody was referring to Spygate, deflategate, or anything nefarious statement when he said the Pats were legally cheating. I think he was simply saying -- and I agree -- that they have managed to beat a system designed to prevent teams from enjoying sustained success. I believe he was simply observing that they have been able to overcome the Salary Cap Era by creating a system that maximizes the contribution of each player then recruiting and retaining the best pieces for that system.

Nice article. Thanks for posting.

“What makes them happy isn’t what it used to be,’’ Fauria said. “Going 10-6? That’s not good enough. Going 9-7? Are you kidding me? The only thing that can really quench their hunger is a Super Bowl. That’s it. The Patriots have set the bar so high that anything less is pretty much a failure.’’

Harrison said, “People are never going to truly appreciate what they have in Brady and Belichick … until they’re gone. There will never be a crew like them again. Never.’’

You know why only a Super Bowl is enough to quench the hunger, Christian? It's because we know this is never coming around again. Getting the best 'ever' at both the coaching positions has happened twice in NFL SB era history, and only twice. Brady and Belichick is the second version of Lombardi and Starr, and we want to wring every precious drop out of it, so that we'll have those memories when we're stuck with the next version of Rust/Wilson, or MacPherson/Millen.

It hasn't been all victory laps and Duck Boat parades. It's been dealing with Bruschi's stroke, and watching a season lost when Brady went down in the first game of the year. It's been a helmet catch and a stupid all out blitz, and it's been multiple dropped first down conversions. It's been a throw about 6 inches of out Randy Moss' reach, and a made up face guarding penalty. And it's been listening to asshats and idiots trying to invalidate the wins because of a camera's placement and a mythical ball deflation.

So, yeah, we want it all, Christian. We want to live our lives knowing that we were witness to the greatest NFL dynasty of the Super Bowl era, and we want to be able to tell our kids, and our grandkids, about "that time when...".

I'm not apologizing for that. None of us should.

Your best post ever.

Not a bad article considering the source.. glad to see they reached out to some of our former players. As the famous "unnamed source" might have sufficed considering the state of today's journalist..

While we all remind current fans to remember when, that is difficult as we are on the cusp of another winning season and getting back into the tournament.. this is the "normal" for the New England Patriots..

This week we have been hearing about how Coughlin has Belichick's number.. and he may have a blueprint. That is all bullshyt to try to inflate Coughlin's ego...

We never hear how we provided the blue print for out last three(best ever) opponents in our last Superbowl run.. consider Baltimore (2 & 6), Indianapolis (4&5) and the "greatest defensive team" ever Seattle (4 & 4) that is a combined win loss of 10 & 15.. that is impressive.

Share the wealth, spread the news.. and block out the noise.

I like Chatham but his comments remind me of being spoken to by my parents when I was a kid. " I hope you appreciate what we are doing for you...." Gimme a break.

In my day I used to drive 100 miles to that stadium to watch Vincent Brown make a billon tackles a game and still get their azz kicked because games were blacked out.

....in the freezing cold....with no shoes...fighting off wolves....drinking Millwaukees Beast.

Your post didn't sound all that bad until I got to the part about drinking Milwaukee's Best.

Tough to disagree with that sentiment..?
Yeah, I'm old enough to remember the pre

Hey, at least you got to drive. I had to walk :)

“I hope you people appreciate what’s happening right now. This is a golden era. When Belichick and Brady eventually move on, then you’ll know what it feels like to be the other 31 teams in the NFL.’’

Notice how they treat the Patriots success as some lucky position that just happened?

And they attribute it ALL to just 2 people.

Perhaps, that's why their own results have not been as brilliant? Methinks. :p
