If Vollmer is out while JPP plays, then that means both teams are shorthanded.

Thank you, you've been a gr8 audience. Please try the veal and don't forget to tip your wait staff.

You should perform that skit on television.

Then I could turn it off. ;)

I'd have to think they have an excellent shot at making the playoffs, as they're currently leading the division. As you said, their competition isn't exactly top notch.

The Giants aren't top notch either. Hopefully the Pats can dress enough players to pull off a win this week.

I think that Philly will give them a run for the NFCE title. They already have a win vs NY.

Not sure about all the fear about JPP, he resigned with the Giants on 10/27 and was activated on 11/7.. is he in game shape?? Does he have the same abilities after the medical trauma he experienced??.. and he does not have the supporting cast he used to have.

Have to put his role/ability in proper perspective here...

stork will pull a mankins and play LT effectively..

Looks like Mankins played left tackle most, if not all, of his college career, so i don't think the comparison is apt.

So, we have 5 relatively healthy OL: Andrews, Stork, Kline, Mason, and Fleming.

We have 1 open roster spot. My only thought is do they call up 1 or 2 OL from the practice squad. And if they decide to call up 2, who would they release trying to sneak to practice squad?

Barker is a G, which means it looks like Stork is staying out at RT. That leaves Fleming at the mercy of JPP. Let us pray....

You prefer Clausen to Fleming at LT?

Our OL are not distinguished by their likely durability.
  • Our starting right tackle has chronic back issues.
  • Our starting left tackle is a recent cancer survivor.
  • Our backup swing tackle is actually a cancer survivor himself.
  • Our presumptive starting center is a second-year player with concussion issues.
  • Our actual starting center is a rookie. Rookies traditionally hit rookie walls.
  • Two of the three guards in our current rotation are rookies.
  • The other one has never started a full season, nor indeed played well for very many consecutive games.
Wendell has been known to play a lot of snaps in a season and hold up well, but he's the only exception to this general rule.

My point is that it is likely that the Patriots will rotate OL for as long as they think they can. Eventually, some guys may fall out action due to injury or poor play, but I'm guessing that the shuffle will continue for quite a while.

I was curious to see whether I'd gotten things right or wrong in that post. It seems like it actually was some of each.

FYI:

The starting interior OL will all start this week.

I think (and hope) we are going to witness something special w Stork. Not quite "winning it all with Troy Brown @ CB", but something special.

Possible we see Stork at RG and Kline at RT too.

Unless we have Michael Williams move back to tackle for a game, so that Stork can rotate with Shaq Mason, who's still playing on a hurt knee.
