Stupid Nike Uniforms Wreaking Havoc On Colorblind NFL Fans

As Gregg Rosenthal points out, there have been colorblind NFL quarterbacks. Imagine that last night.

That would have made it an all-time fiasco. Imagine the chain of events if Tyrod Taylor were colorblind but the Bills didn't realize what a problem it would be until the game started. I can see that being a detail that no one would think about until that point, especially a Rex coached team.

Rex being Rex made EJ Manuel inactive last night so that third QB and former Jet Josh Johnson could be one of the captains to call the coin toss! Johnson was signed exactly one month ago.

After one series the Bills would realize that either they have to work with a QB who can't tell teammate from opponent visually or a guy you signed less than a month ago for the entire game because of an NFL marketing gimmick.

That would have been an all-time fiasco.

Maybe next year they can paint the turf purple, use a paisley football and have the coaching staff wear hawaiian shirts, or something else that has nothing to do with playing football.

Maybe neon colored uniforms and black lights at night? That would shake things up.

I'm red/green colorblind and can testify that the game was difficult to watch. Not only was it difficult to distinguish the teams from one another, but those colors against the green field made it difficult to distinguish the players. It definitely detracted from the game experience. With 8% of the male population being colorblind, most of them red/green, how did the NFL screw this up? OTOH, it is the NFL, so not so surprising.

Apparently every team that plays in Thursday in 2016 will be doing this. Man I'm gonna be pissed if Kraft doesn't do all red and does this instead

Yeah that was some busted ass ****. I honestly think BB did it as a punishment because we had a bad game the week before.

1 in 12 men are colorblind, and these idiots didn't take that into account.

Goodell is certainly taking notes for the expansion plans, he must have asked someone "is there colorblind people in England?"

As much as I think that the uniforms looked really good. It's incredibly stupid by Nike and the NFL to not check something like this out. It's nice with some different uniforms. But how hard is it to just look into stuff like this. Especially with something as simple as red/green. If there's any kind of eye problem that you've heard about, except for, you know, blindness, it's probably people that have problem distinguishing from red and green.

Being a soccer fan and watching many leagues across the world I am so use to color vs color it never bothers me at all

Forgive my insensitivity.........but BOO FREAKIN HOO. Adapt or get slaughtered.

The most borg-est of posts.

About 8% of men are diagnosed with significant colorblindness. The vast majority of those are red/green colorblind. If the NFL truly valued the "integrity of the game", they never would have played a game with all red vs. all green uniforms.

I think Vinnie Testaverde was colorblind. No question that there are a number of players, coaches and officials who have red/green colorblindness.

Is it any surprise that a NYJFL front office totally ignorant of 8th grade physics is also totally ignorant of basic ophthalmology?

Uniforms are fine .... just add a dark helmet vs a white helmet for the
red/green games or any other games where a color blind person is impaired.
