Wow I love that guy, never realized what a personality he had!

I sure love Easley and his play but he will definitely be no lockeroom leader in the near distant future...

Of course, Chandler Jones has some experience of not being acknowledged by his teammates:

Easley looked like he was about to attempt a suicide bombing there.

This isn't how you build a team that competes year in and year out. We can't keep him unless he wants to take less than $10 million a year and he won't because teams will be offering him $15 million a year.

So your predicting the Patriots will let him walk?

I predict the patriots will resign him we always take care of our homegrown talent

I didnt want pats to sign Chandler Jones. After this soundfx, i want him to be signed.

Absolutely clearly the guy is not only a superstar talent with high energy levels but he is a passionate emotional leader of our team!

He will also probably register 18-20 sacks this season at only 25 years old

Players like that don't grow on trees ...pay him whatever he wants!!!!

All four super bowls that we won, we have had great talent on our defense

Watch those pass rush moves chandler makes, what a freak athlete. Tremendous young talent, he plays with swagger too he knows he's good. He make everyone around him better

Patriots fans have been Hollering for a young stud pass rusher since 2008. We've got him folks!

What a great guy, he seems like a lot of fun.

I love me some #95 too, but if Sound FX is your rationale for wanting him on the roster at $15 million per year, you must LOVE Rex Ryan and hate BB.

I know alot of folks are seeing that as 'non-leader-like', but I'm seeing that as intensity and a guy who is concentrating.

I've seen that look before......long ago in the 1980's on Robert Parish's face.

.

Oh, and to keep with the 1980's Celtics theme, Chandler's boyish and enthusiastic talkativeness reminds me of DJ.

I wonder why he's not a captain.

Looking back on it, how many guys have been captains on a BB Pats team that were on their first contracts? Mayo and McCourty, but that's all I remember. Wilfork didn't become captain until he signed his extension. I think that plays a part in it - he has to prove to the coaches and teammates that he's earned it and really wants to be here.

Iam surprised he is the league leader in sacks. Iam even more surprised that we as a team have a high number of sacks. Dont know if this was trait for all our defenses in the past but seems very new this yr ,maybe something new in the scheme ?

'Sound FX': Chandler Jones - NFL Videos

pretty cool. Can someone explain what BB is telling him to do in the special teams assignment ?the reasoning behind it ?

It's a tactic by the Redskins. Normally you take the inside guy but Washington was brining him inside towards the center in the hopes of forcing Chandler to follow him down to the inside, This gives the outside guy a cleaner shot to the kicker because the spot Chandler would normally occupy is now freed up...shortens the distance for the outside guy a bit. BB was basically saying the guy he would normally take was just a decoy to do this so just hit the outside guy since the inside guy isn't penetrating, he's trying to draw Jones out of position.

We do, but there's an awful lot of homegrown talent queuing up right now! Jones would be a must resign on any team that didn't also have Hightower and Collins to resign.

Also the current going rate for ends is about a mil a sack. If someone were being paid $15m a year I'd much rather it be Collins.

I am talking about his passion and having fun on this team. He is having fun and that kind of ppl u need on ur team. I trust in BB that he and Chandler will manage friendly deal. But if he wants to much money, bye bye.

Yes, we spoke earlier during the offseason about how Chandler Jones could make the decision much more difficult with a big year, and it seems as though that's exactly what he is doing.

As you know, the general vibe was that we'd only be able to keep 2/3, and coming into the season, Jones was the odd man out. Now, maybe not so much.

I'm still extremely skeptical to the thought of keeping all 3, but that said we will have the available cap space to do so if that's what Belichick chooses, and all 3 have unique skill sets that would allow the defense to be stacked for awhile. Geez, what a great problem to have!

There was a time when I thought that Hightower would actually prove to be the most valuable out of the three, if one were looking through the same lens as Belichick. Now, sometimes it feels like Collins, and sometimes it feels like Jones. Of course, some will argue that they felt that way the whole time. Any way you look at it, they'll need to start to get on it this offseason if they plan on trying to keep all three, and we all hope they do.

In the salary cap era, it's just such a business of riding out a rookie contract on the cheap and then attempting to replace them with another draft pick, especially with a guy like Belichick--that I'm not as sure as some that we'll be able to keep all three. As to who may leave, that is anyone's guess and will be based on a poster/fan's personal opinion. We do know that Belichick is starting to prepare for all possible options, based on his double down on DEs during the draft, along with bringing in a 2nd tier free agent like Sheard, although part can be attributed to Ninkovich just the same.
