Doubtful.

Found Dikembe's alternate account

I'm still a little baffled about what happened with Gray.

He runs for 199 against the colts.
Patriots sign LeGarrette Blount..
Gray is late for a meeting...
Gray is gone.

Was it just that the Pats signed LGB or was it a combination of an attitude and LGB?

I don't think they let him go if they had not signed LGB.

Anyways strange situation.
There's something not (yet) public about Gray that should be telltale. My guess is poor work habits.

No doubt that there's something behind the scenes that we aren't aware of, whether that be multiple issues showing up on time, a poor attitude, a lack of strong work ethic, or any/all of the above. I doubt we'll ever know the whole story, of course.

I think Blount would have to go down before considering a guy like Gray, since we still have Bolden behind him. While unspectacular outside of his very solid ST work, Bolden does prove to be a viable backup (albeit with a certain dropoff) to both power back and 3rd down back.

From a fan's standpoint, he may not be "good" at either, but he's good enough for Belichick to keep him on for various reasons, and I actually believe that we could get by if he started to get into a rhythm. People tend to forget that Bolden caught 20 passes out of the backfield a couple/few seasons ago, although again...he just doesn't give us the same burst that guys like Woodhead, Vereen, or Lewis did. I do believe that he's at least serviceable, however.

How much would he cost? Depth would be nice, at a nice price.
The cost is the roster spot. They aren't liable to carry 5 backs, so carrying Gray is likely to mean no replacement for Lewis' role.

Jonas Gray cut by the doofins!!! I'm sure he has learned his lesson!! We need a pass catching/ change of pace RB .....and Jonas Gray needs a JOB!!! Make it happen BB!!!!!
A) he isn't a change of pace, and B) just...no.

Huh? Have you seen how over weight he's gotten? No way this guy comes back. Wouldn't be surprised if he's out of football altogether soon.
He's out of football right now.

Did you see what Jonas was like against us a couple weeks ago every time he got tackled?

Yeah, I think he's probably still a bit bitter as well.

Fins are probably just going to put him on their PS

I think he would be great improvement for our 6-1 team :)

I kind of liked Gray as a between the tackles kind of RB. He was pretty good at hitting the hole and following his blockers. Which made him better than Blount in some short yardage situations because Blount can be pretty slow to start. I don't understand this 3rd down and change of pace back talk. That's absolutely not what he is.

With that said I think there is something BB really doesn't like about Gray, because he was really put in the dog house. I don't think that we will see him here again.

He looked terrible against us. He was a one game beneficiary of a particular game plan. I'm sure there was a good reason he didn't get much play here aside from that one game.

What do those two things have to do with each other?

He doesn't really add anything. Blount is having a good year running the ball.
While I'm not advocating bringing him in (I'm really not), I don't think you can ever have enough bruisers. I know that's not the way of the game these days, but the Pats morph every week so I would imagine there might come a time we might need someone like him. With that said, I don't think he was active for any of the playoff games last season. Plus, if you're getting cut from the Dolphins, then you're definitely doing something wrong. I don't think he was a casualty of the numbers game. There is a definite reason why this guy keeps getting cut, and I don't know if it's all talent or lack thereof. There were some grumblings here about him behind the scenes after he left. So I don't know. Now, if Blount goes down . . .
