My Dearest Gen. Luck,

Please write to me soon! I sit here writing this with extreme trepidation. I have heard from President Irsay that you sustained a grievous injury in your last battle. Why did you not say anything about this in your last letter? Will you be able to continue fighting or is this the end? Please, please my love, I am going insane with the thought of you being wounded.

Write to me and let it be known that you are okay, and that my love will heal any injuries to my brave hero!

Yours forever,

Abigaile

i was waiting for this gem!:)

some colts fans were celebrating dion lewis's injury. now luck is out..karma is a *****.

Think maybe the NFL* should investigate this injury?

The Colts have already lied about Luck's previous injury, so there may be more to this than the Colts have let on.

When did the injury REALLY happens?

We need an answer because INTEGRITY.

What about the children? What will we tell them?

grigson couldn't lie anymore/got scared finally admits that luck has been hurt.
the timing is interesting. they should lose a draft pick.

I despise Irsay.
I despise Grigson.
I like Luck personally but have to root against him based on the above.
I also like Pagano because I believe he is genuinely embarrassed about the whole idiocy from this past 10 months. Just my hunch. Plus him and Grigson hate each other. (However I think he is a bad coach)

Haha who came up with these?

What about the children? What will we tell them?[/QUOTE]

These two sentences crack me up. I remember hearing that tool of a reporter uttering those two ridiculous questions. She should have had her press credentials pulled for that.

Sucks for Luck. He finally got the kind of playcalling he should have been getting all year, and finally looked like the Luck we've seen in the past, and he comes down with this. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Deus, there was a thread some weeks ago that discussed how much of the Patriots success was due to TB vs. BB. You stated that the overwhelming reason for the Patriots success has been the stratospheric excellence of TB. I agree, with the caveat that one never knows if TB would have achieved the same level of success and excellence without the outstanding coaching he has received in NE and the strong personnel skills of BB (fielding consistent winners despite drafting near the end of each round).

I figured that the career of TB in an "average" organization would have been similar to that of Peyton with the Colts (1 ring instead of 4, 2 Super Bowl appearances instead of 6, etc.), because of inferior coaching and an inferior front office. I considered the Colts organization during the Manning years as "average", but they still enjoyed more than average success because of having an excellent QB in Manning.

Unfortunately, I am beginning to wonder if Luck might be an example of what happens to a very gifted quarterback when, instead of ending up in an "average" organization, they end up in a really crappy organization (e.g., a scumbag owner, a horrible GM that undermines the coach and makes poor personnel decisions, etc., etc.). Luck has seemed like the most gifted QB to come out in years, and unfortunately he ends up in that organizational cesspool in Indy.

I also wish him a speedy recovery, and moreover I hope he can eventually get to a decent organization that deserves him.

I hear what you're saying. I just think that Brady's "want to" is an outlier that would overcome mediocre coaching.

It did in Michigan, for example.

Good point.

When they said 2-6 weeks I wondered the same thing.

This.

By 'this' I mean the words that you wrote are exactly how I feel, but rather than restate them in the interest of brevity I will instead just use a single word reply that will encapsulate my agreement succinctly.

Only General Andrew Luck would communicate in such a way.

All I have to say is: Denver's pass rush. Brady better survive that game. Our O-line MUST SHOW UP!

All due respect to the Broncos pass rush, but Luck was seemingly injured on that late fourth quarter scramble where he was sandwiched between two defenders.

I'm sure the Steelers and Cowboys wish they had Hasselbeck, that's for sure. This season has been showing the importance of backup QBs.

Seems like backup QBs are REALLY hard to find!

Sheesh, figures. Luck finally gets decent offensive play calling and then goes down... However, Hasselbeck did just fine under Hamilton; I'm sure Chudzinski can figure out how to play to his strengths as well.

Dearest Abigail,

You will, however, learn before this reaches you that our great success did not come without cost, and though we drove the enemy from his position, I was felled by grievous wounds, suffered so badly that I have been hastened from the field, and presently am but on my way home to you. I held back on informing you as I did not want to chance the enemy finding out whilst the battle raged hotly.

All would have been well with us; but God, in His all-wise providence, willed otherwise. My campaign for this year is terminated.

I fear for Gen. Irsay, as he is not of sound mind.

I trust that a merciful God, our only hope and refuge, will not desert us in this hour of need, and will deliver us by His almighty hand.

I remain, none other but yours in eternity,

Gen. A. Luck

I have exactly zero sympathy for Andrew Luck.

I bet he feels deflated after the injury.

Romo, Roethlisberger (x2), Fitzpatrick (after Thursday), Taylor, Brees, Bridgewater, and Luck (x2). Those are just the starting QBs to go down this year. Not including Ik's knockout of Geno Smith in preseason.

Pushing the regular season to 18 games would be reckless.

I've never heard of lacerated kidney injuries in the NFL before this year. I"m sure I wasn't paying attention. Keenan Allen is done for the year with his. 2-6 weeks may be optimistic?

I have a feeling, between a cracked rib, lacerated kidney, and a torn abdomen.... Luck must feel.... how shall I put it....

A bit deflated? o_O

See what I did there? :p
