As for Gray, did you all miss the Dolphins game? He was atrocious catching out of the backfield.
No thanks. We already have a power back, and a good one at that. Give me Archer or Moreno.
I hear ya, but aren't you putting alot of faith in Blount's ability to carry the rock 20 times per game and stay completely healthy?
I thought Moreno was out for the year.
I don't think they're going to sign anyone - just a hunch. Still have two guys coming off PUP and signing someone while IR'ing those guys costs $$$...and means they cut someone else.
Bolden is way unappreciated here on this board. Not only is he a special teams monster, he's a decent runner with a good burst off tackle, and can run routes and catch.
Time for White to step up - that's why he's on the damned team! - and time for Bolden to be Bolden, doing everything he's asked to do without a whisper of complaint.
Nabwong, what is that man in your sig doing? Hmm?
Truly disturbing.Playing the Bongos of course!
I think the main reason they kept White over Cadet was Cadet wasn't healthy and had missed a lot of camp. The proof of how much they liked him, was they gave him a roster spot, even though they knew he wasn't ready yet. But they didn't like him enough to wait for him to get healthy, and he was cut. When it turned out the Lewis was even better than expected, they didn't even sign him to the PS when they had a chance. In other word, they moved on.Maybe Cadet felt like he had more long-term potential to get a long-term contract in San Francisco. Lewis is locked-and-loaded as the receiving back next year, and the Patriots kept White and Bolden over Cadet going into the season. For the Niners, Cadet has no real competition as a third down back in this season, and with a good showing could earn himself a deal similar to Lewis because they have no one but Hyde and a broken down Reggie Bush.
Ultimately, though, I agree with you. The Patriots kept White and Bolden (the latter, albeit, mostly for his special teams contributions) over Cadet; there's no real reason that pecking order would have changed over the intervening 10 weeks.
He was getting about 88 total ypg. I liked Lewis, too, and he made some great plays. But his production can be replaced. His biggest rushing output, by far, was in week one with 69 yards. The biggest question in my mind is if White can pick up the pass rush as well as Lewis did. Lewis did great at that this year. What they can do is figure out how they are going to make up for his production. Which is over 100 yds/game.
Disagree, @Tunescribe? Really?Truly disturbing.
he's a decent runner
Meant to say Montee Ball, but that's only if Bill feels he's put his fumbling issue aside.
No, I didn't find it disturbing at all. I kind of enjoyed it.Disagree, @Tunescribe? Really?
Jonas looked real sucky against us, last week, and was playing angry. He had something to prove, but couldn't make the plays with ball in hand.
My real knock on the guy is that he failed the test where you Deal With Success. You can never know how a guy will react in extreme situations until he's in one. Then, it's a test.
Butler passed the test. Gray failed. How many shots at it do you want? There a lot of UDFAs that deserve a fair look.
I'd rather the Pats pick up another project off the trash heap and try to dust off the next Lewis or Butler or Coleman or Andrews or Hicks or Bostic. It's amazing really, how they find these guys, and it just works.
Truly disturbing.
