You knew he was going to throw as soon as possible to get the record - it's what he lives for. Shame for him that Butler knew it as well....*stifles laughter*

It encapsulated his career - throws the balls for thousands of yards yet blows it when it counts.

What's nice about this particular loss is the potential impact it has on post-season standings.

This win by the Colts gives New England a tie-breaker over Denver and could help determine the 1st-seed, etc.

Of course, it all depends upon New England still winning a bunch more games, but overall, anything that helps drop Denver down in the standings is fine by me.

You can not blame the man. At this point in his career that's all he has to play for and he might actually prefer all the records over getting to a superbowl.

After hearing Sims gush about Peyton and the record, I wonder if the 4 hour cialis rule is in effect

I thought this might be a Broncos loss going in.

It's a big game with a lot at stake for Peyton (the record as well as returning to Indy). He wanted this one so bad.

He doesn't tend to do well in those situations.

NFL will just change the stats soon to give him the 3 yards due to an "error" counting the stats in the game.

They should give him the yardage he through for the interception. Then commentators can always tell us about how Manning's record setting throw was an INT.

Brady's teams have scored more ppg than Mannings, 2 years after Manning retires Brady with have the reg season wins record accompanied with a much higher winning %. The other records don't matter.

Did Manning steal Welker's helmet?

Yeah but he did throw his 12th and 13th interception of the season keeping him on pace to lead the NFL.

I'd actually be good with that. They'd have to shoehorn an awkward celebration in at the start of the next game...it'd underscore the ridiculousness of the NFL in 2015.

Manning vs Brady seems ridiculous now.

1 more week to plan his celebration and give something for the media to distract themselves. I hope he comes up with something better than keep-away.

Seriously though, it's quite a feat, but given the new age of scoring-f00tball, it won't be too long before his record is broken.
