Bills Fans The Drunkest, Pats Mid-Pack

My first game was the 4th and 2 game in 2009. Those Colts fans sure were vicious...one of em threw a couple of popcorn kernels at me. Popcorn kernels!! He literally figured throwing his summer harvest of corn at me was worth his family starving.

I had Pats tickets from 92 to 12 (I think). Once I turned 21 and was legal for the football season (in 95) I don't think I watched one game completely sober - and I only missed 1 game (vs Tenn in 98 for my mother's wake) in that time. I openly admit this. Almost everyone in the parking lots is/was sh#tfaced to some degree during the pre game tailgate, game, post game tailgate.
It was completely normal for my friends and I (numbering from 4 to 20 depending on size of the group going together to the game and whether or not we took the winnebago) to start drinking at 8:30 am for a 1 pm kick and drink straight through the post game. Personally I would estimate between 20-30 beers if not more for myself.
It wasn't just us. Anyone who's had season tickets has seen debauchery in the parking lots. I distinctly remember the Buffalo game in 07. Beautiful day - maybe 75 degrees out. Postgame tailgate before we turned back the clocks so the sun was still out. Some guys in our tailgate started playing beer pong with the females next to us and one thing led to another and some girls were in various stages of undress right there in the parking lot for all to see. Cripes, one dude used to put up a stripper pole and had a DJ set up post game. He would give shots to any girl that danced on the poll. This was back when Gillette first opened - maybe 02-05 season when we used to park kind of in front of the stadium coming from heading south on Rt 1.
I was in a big brawl post game after Atlanta blew out the Pats in 98. Right there in Lot A. Had a spiral fracture in my left fibia to show for it. Stuff was crazy....
Maybe its different now, but I remember most people being hammered at the games...

Suddenly I'm a lot more disappointed I never bothered making Pats game in the old days! The stripper pole is priceless! Heck, you can watch football on TV any time but action like you describe in parking lots is usually only caught live. Excellent post.

... just a thought, if someone would've "tried" measuring BAC levels of Pats wearing gear folk during/after SB XLII, my guess is "we" would be undisputed drunk champs ;)

Also I remember being the last group of people out of the parking lot - Mounted Troopers would ride through the lots booting people....ahhh the salad days of the Pats

I went to some Pats games in the early to mid-1980s. I wonder where Pats fans would have ranked back then? The stadium smelled of beer and there were drunk people everywhere, fighting with each other and throwing bottles and other items at each other and on the field. It was no place for a 9-year old.
Ah, the bad ole' days..... when you would drink a beer then you had to belly up to the trough in the men's room to let it out....

This is really disapointing. I really thought we had this one in the bag.

I am sure they are very proud of it too

I'm sure some of them are.

Imagine if IND has been given this "award." They'd be a new banner going up this year...even if they were finalists.

Chargers are likely so high because of the amount of craft beer in that stadium. The only stadium I've been to that actually had good beer at just about every concession. It's probably mostly fans of other teams gulping all that wonderful beer though.

I for one know I had one too many Green Flash West Coast IPAs when we played there last season on SNF.
