Bills Fans The Drunkest, Pats Mid-Pack

According to a 'study' conducted this season over the first 7 games. You'll get a chuckle if nothing else. 'Average' Bills fan is just under the legal limit!

Breathalyzer company: Bills, Lions, Eagles have drunkest fans in the NFL - CBSSports.com

Everyone up here in Buffalo is saying that there is a huge amount of drunkenness at the games, because of where the stadium is located, and the setup. But at the same time, they had about 100 Bills fans on the talk radio station all of whom said they go to every game and haven't been tested with this breath device--nor have they even seen anyone ever being tested.

I think I brought us up a few notches at last Thursdays game. Straight trolling lolphins fans all the way back to the parking lot.

Mort is reporting that 11 of the 12 Pats fans tested cheated on the breathalyzer test, which seriously deflated the Pats' results.

Imagine where Denver and Seattle would be if they included the weed index...

Seems about right:

I've been there a few times for extended stays. The bars are open 'till 5AM...at least they were when I was there. It's bitterly cold. There's not much to do. They drink a lot. And they get celery and blue cheese dressing with their pizzas. Who's better than them?

Don't forget the lake effect snow. There are two seasons, winter and the 4th of July.....I went to college in upstate NY on the lakes, it is depressing as hell in winter.......Eating and drinking are the two biggest pastimes...which correlate with the obesity rates and drunkenness......

Well, I for one will do better this weekend. Jack's Abby in Framingham has a beer called BrideMaker which is 13% ABV. A couple of those babies and New England's number will surely go up.

70 degrees here right now.

Last winter while all the lake effect snow was coming down in the southtowns, I was taking pictures of dry sidewalks and not a cloud in the sky in sunny Buffalo.

Admittedly, the pictures were through the window of a bar.

But seriously, Buffalo has everything every other city has. If you can't find anything to do here, you won't find anything to do in Boston either (with the exception of pro basketball).

As a Pats fan in western NY I agree with this poll. I rarely go anymore to the Pats games when they come to Buffalo and really wont take my kids either now that I am a Dad. Sad it wasnt this bad when I went to games as a kid mid 80s and then as a teen in the early 90s. The 120 inch projector screen in my basement theater is a much easier commute and much warmer.;)

I went to some Pats games in the early to mid-1980s. I wonder where Pats fans would have ranked back then? The stadium smelled of beer and there were drunk people everywhere, fighting with each other and throwing bottles and other items at each other and on the field. It was no place for a 9-year old.

I had Pats tickets from 92 to 12 (I think). Once I turned 21 and was legal for the football season (in 95) I don't think I watched one game completely sober - and I only missed 1 game (vs Tenn in 98 for my mother's wake) in that time. I openly admit this. Almost everyone in the parking lots is/was sh#tfaced to some degree during the pre game tailgate, game, post game tailgate.
It was completely normal for my friends and I (numbering from 4 to 20 depending on size of the group going together to the game and whether or not we took the winnebago) to start drinking at 8:30 am for a 1 pm kick and drink straight through the post game. Personally I would estimate between 20-30 beers if not more for myself.
It wasn't just us. Anyone who's had season tickets has seen debauchery in the parking lots. I distinctly remember the Buffalo game in 07. Beautiful day - maybe 75 degrees out. Postgame tailgate before we turned back the clocks so the sun was still out. Some guys in our tailgate started playing beer pong with the females next to us and one thing led to another and some girls were in various stages of undress right there in the parking lot for all to see. Cripes, one dude used to put up a stripper pole and had a DJ set up post game. He would give shots to any girl that danced on the poll. This was back when Gillette first opened - maybe 02-05 season when we used to park kind of in front of the stadium coming from heading south on Rt 1.
I was in a big brawl post game after Atlanta blew out the Pats in 98. Right there in Lot A. Had a spiral fracture in my left fibia to show for it. Stuff was crazy....
Maybe its different now, but I remember most people being hammered at the games...

My first Pats game was in the early 90s. I'm pretty sure the only sober ones in the stands were children and the state troopers.

I am sure they are very proud of it too
