Don't worry, if nothing works out, we can always cut Ventrone and everyone will feel better.

We can bring back fletcher welp lol.

Ventrone asked me to Dislike this comment

(but I wont)

Thought i heard on sports hub. That mccourty was re dueing his deal to get the trade done?

Doesn't sound like he is trolling but he certainly could be dead wrong.
Given how quickly he came up with "He's not available cuz he's reworking his contract", I'm almost certain he's trolling. If the Titans could get a better haul than what the Patriots are offering, they probably would.

Yeah you heard right. Makes sense if you look at it because why would you poo poo another team that may be interested 45 minutes before the deadline? Somethings up, and it may fall through but there is some smoke I'd say.

Oh, so this guy's just a clown. OK, that clarifies things.

If I remember correctly now, Stewart is the one who had sources that were convinced that the Wells Report would come down hard on the Colts and not the Pats because the Colts took a needle to the intercepted ball. Probably should have remembered that before I bought into his report today.

Wow, the Jags are $34 million under the cap. That's crazy.

I think that was a different guy.

Yes.

EDIT: At least some...
What is so important, if this deal happens, is not how it impacts the starting lineup. It should get a bit better, with Ryan moving to the slot.. However the key element in this deal is what it means to the depth of the position. We would no long have to hold our breathes every game praying nothing happens to Butler or Ryan. What's behind them isn't pretty.

The thing is we have a very good front 7, and excellent safeties. So far the CB's have played "good enough" to support their efforts. If we were 100% assured that Butler and Ryan were immune to injuries, getting this deal done, would be so important. We can't, so it is. Our chances of getting to another superbowl will be better if it happens. If it doesn't our chances don't die, but we will need some luck with the health Gods

That was Dan the Angry Call Screener

to be honest it sounds like everyone is just retweeting/circulating the same tweet from earlier today... which was pretty vague.

Since then, the only update was from Ian Rap. who is generally pretty reliable, who said not available.

While I would love to add CB Depth, this doesn't seem like its going to happen...sounds like Jimmy Stewart on 98.5 is the only one who is confident it will happen. I really don't know anything about him, let alone his source.

IF
This happens my guess at a reworked contract would be 2 years 9.5 million
Or one year 5 million.

I also know that Patriots are generally pretty tight-lipped re: trades and contract negotiations. My general thoughts on Patriots "rumors" are that they are all false, because we very rarely get accurate 'leaks' coming out of situations like this.

That said - fingers crossed.

Disagree, a bit. I mean, agree that our chances don't die without a deal, of course. But the unit needs an upgrade even if everybody's healthy. You bring in another guy and slot everybody down one on the depth chart and we're in business.

35 minutes....

It's all still nothing but rumor, but...if I were Jason I'd absolutely take less money to move to the top franchise in the league AND unite with my twin brother. Not only an ideal job satisfaction scenario, but Devin already does very well with media and endorsements here.

Identical twins in the Patriots backfield = tons of national attention, goldmine.
