Bob looks good, but Rikki sure has aged!

I respectfully disagree. Bob needs to be relevant. Standing pat until the next BS is not the answer. IMO

So stepping down and having Jonathan wage war helps this team win more games?

Having Bob destroy Goody and shove broomsticks up the other owners butts would be great but does it help this team win games?

I hate that Bob bent over and didnt fight for TB but the reality is that any warmongering won't help this team win more games.

I don't think Jonathan would do any different. Owners are owners. The players are pawns and the NFPA is an inconvienence

Really? I respect that. I'm just another internet keyboard hidden in the shadows tough-talk no action guy myself.

I commend you if that's the truth.

I still love Bob, though. He kept the team here.

I will occasionally respectfully write congress/Patriots or whatever to offer my thoughts regarding a situation whether they be positive or negative. Expressing your point of view sometimes has an impact. Sometimes.

I too am usually sitting in the background and just living my life etc... but when it is something I feel is important then I'm all in.

To be honest with you I never thought I would write an email to a sports organization. I always had thought of sports as a distraction from the everyday grind as well as a common ground talking point to use with my kids, friends and even business associates but never really paid attention to the peripheral issues regarding a team. Deflategate changed that because my 8 y/o son asked me if Brady was a cheater. So I started to look into it. Next thing I know I'm writing an email and am now addicted to this forum. haha

Just curious. Would it have cost us games if Brady didn't man up and fight Goodell? If he would have been suspended for the four games?

Appeasement has not worked for this organization thus far. Two overblown or fabricated scandals, loss of draft picks and two all time greats left defending themselves. Capitulation leads to future capitulation.
I never asked for "warmongering" or to go with the nuclear option. I only wish he could stand up and protect his organization instead of "the good of the 32".

I have an 8 y/o son as well. Man, they want answers and see thru BS, don't they? When I was 8 I was just worried about jacking cars and running numbers.

Times have changed. :(

Do you know what the NE patriots record was in the 34 years previous to Bob backing Orthwein into a corner and forcing him to sell instead of letting football in NE die so they could become the St. Louis Stallions?

Does it irk me losing 3 first Rd picks during his tenure? Of course. As far as reputation...Who gives a flyin' f...k. They'd hate us anyway.

I'll never jump on the "I hate Bob Kraft bandwagon" and I think the rest of you who do should go find another team. I heard the Jets are always looking for fickle, thin-skinned back-stabbing sh!t talkers.

I'll bet not one YOU jellyfish in here would have the balls to say a word if you were in a room with him alone.

I laugh at all you spineless internet keyboard toughguy jellyfishes. This board wouldn't even EXIST if Bob hadn't bought this team and you'd be stuck talking about how much you don't care about football on Celtic, Bruin and Red Sox boards.

Thankless, ungrateful spoiled brats. The whole lot of you.

This is one of the greatest posts I've seen on this forum.

New England wouldn't even have a team right now if it wasn't for Robert Kraft. This team would've died and went to St. Louis without ever winning a super bowl... **** the first round pick, Robert could give up the next 3 years worth of first round picks and I'd still be happy with him because he is the only reason the patriots are the patriots right now. He is the reason we have Belichick and four super bowl wins.

LOL! You are right. We should not have opinions.

There's a difference between having an opinion and judging someone you don't even know just because you don't like his personal business decisions.

LOL! You are right. We should not have opinions.

I understand when people have opinions on decisions that are made. But opinions on what is moral or right or socially-acceptable, when no laws are broken and no impact is made on your life? Why? The world is too preachy and judgmental as is. It's divisive and harmful and has no real purpose other than making somebody feel better about themselves.

So Kraft has a younger girlfriend. He's broken no laws, he's happy, she's happy, what does it matter? And if she makes him feel young again so he dresses up for Halloween, so what? Should he break up with her and find someone closer to his age and make himself less happy just to fit in? Should Kraft sacrifice his own happiness just to fit societal norms? I'd have less respect for him as a man if he did.

I've always thought that what a man does matters more than what a man wears. The guy saved football in New England, paid for the entire stadium out of his own pocket, built the best organization in football, has donated over $100M to charities

VS.

He wears SNEAKERS with his SUIT??? CLOWN!

Kraft has made mistakes, no doubt. And if you want to question those, I understand. But keep the personal **** out of it. It's just mean and spiteful and has nothing to do with the man he is.

And for those who think Jonathan would be better because of some media comments, I think there's a story behind the scenes that you're missing. Public comments and positions are often discussed in the background, and different people take different positions to cover bases.

Jonathan actually hadn't said much for a looooooooooong time. It's only recently he's taken on a more active role, and that's not by accident or coincidence. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that Robert and Jonathan have discussed this in advance and choreographed their positions. Robert is also a father, and he's grooming Jonathan to take over eventually, so it wouldn't be surprising that he gets Jonathan to take positions that are popular with the fanbase.

In an organization as tight-lipped as the Patriots are, any leaks or deviation should be seen as purposeful, and not accidental. Like the Patriots leaking that they were going to draft Mallett a dozen picks before it happened, that wasn't a mistake, but rather an ad to the rest of the league that you better trade up if you want him.

Which is a long way of saying that Jonathan is a team player, just like his dad, just like his coach, just like his players. He will play the role he's given, he will do his job. But that doesn't mean that's what he or Robert or anyone else in the organization actually think or believe or do. It's all part of the public show.

Not saying Jonathan would be a bad owner, just that it's a terrible idea to crown him based on a few snarky public comments that made us laugh.

You are 100% correct. If TB12 hadn't fought they may have a couple of losses right now.

I'm looking at this from a wider view.

As we understand it, Bob's perceived paths for retaliation was either to file a appeal or sue the league.

I can understand that fans want Bob to stand up to Goodell. I want that as well. There were two options.

In theory, Bob never should have accepted the penalties in May and should have appealed however
many on this board wanted him to file and appeal. While it would have demonstrated some semblance of a backbone, it would have been denied and without any support from the other owners was a dead-end option.

The other option was suing the league. Back on 7/29/2015 according to McCann, this is what would have happened.

"If Kraft determines that he has exhausted any internal appeals, he could attempt to take the matter to court. If a lawsuit advanced past a motion to dismiss, Kraft could force Goodell, Vincent and others to testify under oath. The same, though, would be true for Kraft, Brady and Bill Belichick, among other Patriots employees."

So, the possibility exists, but as McCann points out, a lawsuit may not be worth the trouble for Kraft and the Patriots.

Back then, did we as fans really want BB, the front office and coaching staff to be distracted by talking to lawyers, going to court and having the dirtball NFL GC tearing into BB on the witness stand and rehashing Spygate during the regular season?

I know it was the chickensh_t way out but it was the path of least resistance that was the only option that allowed for the smallest amount of impact on actually winning.

Only thing Kraft can do now is give BB more resources, keep winning and hope for a day when Goody is vulnerable and cut his head off (figure of speech).

Me!! By the way: You got $10,000,000,000 you can lend me?? :D
I'm feeling around my couch cushions while typing this......

Nope. Sorry. But I did come across a stale Tostitos chip, a John Cena action figure, my truck keys and a chipmonk.

Chipmonks are cute.

Losing draft picks repeatedly won't help this team win games either. And until the ownership group stands up to the bully , it will happen again...and again..... We have already seen the attempt with the interrogation of the sideline employees.....
Unless you stand up and fight the bully, they continue to come after you...Do you want to have to live in fear that Goodell and his minions stand ready to suspend or seize more draft picks??? I have yet to see anything that leads me to believe that actions are being taken to defend this franchise and prevent another witch hunt. Yes, of course things could be going on behind the scenes that we don't know about, but we should be able to enjoy the season so far without having to be concerned that some disgruntled Jets fans/NFL employees at 345 Park Avenue are stirring a pot full of crap to sling at the Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots.
