LBJ was President when NYJ won it all.
:D
To whomever disagreed with me:

I am not one to worry terribly much about being disagreed with, but LBJ really was in the White House when the Jets won their Super Bowl.

LBJ left office January 20, 1969 and Super Bowl 3 was played 8 days earlier on January 12, 1969.

I demand a retraction!!!! :D:D

“[Jets Security Director Robert] Mastroddi didn’t initially accept the explanation that a team employee would be responsible for ensuring the performance of the referee’s microphone; … In response to Mastroddi’s concerns, Bandy called 345 Park Avenue and spoke with Jay Reid of the officiating department, who confirmed that the referee’s in-stadium microphone is handled by the teams, not by the league…”

Jets Security Director doesn't know the rules. Jets Security Director contacts the league and makes a wild allegation. Jets Security Director may have been better off looking up the rule first, because it turns out that Jets Security Director's allegation is based on Jets Security Director's own ignorance of the rules.

You are right.I retracted.

Why does a Patriots employee have to answer to a jest employee at Gillette Stadium?

Just because the jest employee is a "security director" (and apparently an incompetent one at that) it gives him the right to walk around an opponents' stadium confiscating cell phones and interrogating random employees of the other team?

If the patriots are really petty, they totally could just go and make allegations re: any and every gameday violation they see committed by anyone in the opposing stadium. I doubt that would really accomplish anything, though.

To his credit, he understands the NFL just has to have a reason to investigate, not any evidence or even anything outside the rules. He's probably interviewing for an NFL* league office job and this was his mail-in interview.

Why? Because Bendover Bobby the gutless, lascivious old coward allows it.

As a percentage or count, I have always wondered many ex-New England Patriot people work at the NFL vs. ex-NY Jet employees. Let me qualify that question, working in the areas concerning security, rules, discipline, etc. If anyone has this information I would love to know. On the other hand, it may not contain much of a surprise...

I am sure the next would be the first.

You know, I have been thinking about Spygate again. There is no way having those signals could have provided any real advantage during games. The headset communication to the QB is cut off when the play clock is down to 15 seconds so once they break the huddle if a call came in to the defense based on formation there was no way for the sideline to call in any adjustments to the QB (except maybe the old fashioned way with signals).

What you're saying makes sense and is grounded in reality. Unfortunately, the spygate truthers have already come up with an alternative to this: They believe that the Patriots installed a second radio frequency in Brady's helmet that allows him to hear instructions after the 15 second cut-off.

The "smoking gun" behind this claim is a comment that Doug Flutie allegedly made to John Saunders and Saunders told to Dan LeBetard. The story is that Flutie, while with the Patriots, picked up what he thought was his helmet, but was actually Brady's backup helmet. He could hear Brady receiving information about what the defense was going to run.

In the original story, there is no mention of this warning coming after the 15 second cut off. Also, no one has apparently spoke to LeBetard, Saunders, or Flutie to confirm any of this. For the truthers, they don't need anything else. In their minds, that's indisputable proof, despite the lack of anything to corroborate or substantiate that story.

In addition to the lack of any evidence (Why hasn't the NFL noticed during their regular or random electronic sweeps over the last 15 years? Why hasn't any other backup QB noticed this?), this story also fails from a common sense standpoint. The back up helmets for the offensive and defensive signal callers (the green dot helmets) don't just sit around in the bench area. Those are kept in a trunk and in possession of a league employee until they are needed. The teams can't access them.

Also, pretend for a moment that this story is true: If the Patriots were doing this, why would they leave the one piece of physical evidence that could reveal their entire scheme just lying around, unattended, for anyone to pick up? And why would Flutie, after discovering this, decided to only mention it to a media member in passing and not, for example, got to the league?

So, yeah, you're point is correct. There's just a lot of misinformed, gullible, and envious people out there.

MYTH: Doug Flutie Is On Record Saying Patriots Used Illegal Helmet Frequency

Zeppelin 1 was released the same day, Yellow Submarine the next.

"Easy Rider" was also released the same year. It was the first low-budget independent feature produced.

Its rambling plot and disoriented storyline was, I think, emblematic of the era it represented, one of the most turbulent and unsettling time in modern American history (Vietnam, race riots, counterculture) and the beginning of generational separation. It also launched the career of Jack Nicholson.

...and on Jan 12th 1969 the Boston Celtics lost to the Milwaukee Bucks 114-110.

Bill Russell had 10 points.
