2 Part Question: What, if anything, could Kraft have done?

The trouble is, your public campaign would be waging war against a far large campaign to bring down the Pats, backed by every team that can't compete, and every fan of those teams.

You assume a great deal, and you're almost certainly Dead Wrong.

Most Owners are Entrepreneurs who amassed Great Wealth in the Land of the Free.

Such folks don't tend to be Communists who fear Fair Competition, as your post suggests.

The league itself is socialist.

That's fun to say, I'm sure, but it's only within the context of raging Capitalism: Parity Equals Profit.

But Parity by fair means is entirely different from Parity by raping and persecuting 1 single Team.

Like I said: Most people, while having their own Self Interest at heart, also actually have Consciences. They may look the other way in the face of Injustice if they feel they can get away with it, but if Called To Account and challenged publicly, day after day after day, I believe that many, rich or poor, will be inspired or simply shamed into Taking Action. That's just Human Nature.

Actually, the league is socialist. They share revenues and agree on a limit to salaries.

I never attacked you. I attacked the notion that this situation could be resolved by staring somebody down. If you didn't say that, then I apologize.

You stated:

01 ~ I can't handle the Truth.
02 ~ I was writing just to see myself write, or something foolish like that.

Rather than debate the Points, yes: You attacked and insulted me.

I can't claim that it hurt my feelings, but it did disgust me.

America's Socialist Sports League: The NFL

what he should have done.

The day fake numbers were released: Issued a statement saying that the numbers released were incorrect, and that the actual numbers were much more favorable.

The day Wells was commisioned: Asked that a truely independent investigator be assigned

The day the penalty dropped: Vowed to fight it on the grounds of 1.) there being no proof of wrong doing and 2.)The league had made plans to test balls during the season, if at the end of the next season there was conclusive evidence that cold weather games resulted in balls not unlike the ones from the AFCCG that he would then, and only then accept a penalty

The day after goodell released his appeal hearing: Made a statement strongly denoucing goodells recent acts as commisioner, as hurting the integrity of the NFL office.

The day the goodell appeal files were released: Nominated that goodell be fired from his position as commisioner of the NFL due to ineptitude.

Just so you know, his young squeeze has dumped him. ;)

I imagine there were some lovely parting gifts.

He needs to fish in more mature, but still hot, waters. take some tips from the coach, he's got a winner.:D

And only that angle.

We're both in fact looking to get this ultimately resolved in the BoardRooms ~ the only place it can ultimately actualize, obviously ~ but clearly disagree on the Value of a Public Campaign to drive it there.

Fair enough.

Yes, we disagree. I don't think public discord leads to private agreement.

Bill Belichick and Tom Brady, two of the all time greats, will have to live with underserved tarnished legacies because this f***ing coward can't stand up and fight or do the right thing.
Time is on their side (for legacies). Someone will ultimately spill the beans on what was going on behind closed doors (league offices) and maybe even the NFL in general.

BB did get coach of the year in 2007. So, people inside the NFL understand the infraction was minor (if there was one at all...which is my opinion that it really wasn't).

By fair I mean treating all teams equal in the assignment of punishment. Apparently, punishment is doled out like "Animal Farm" all teams are treated equally but some are more equal than others based on the whims of the POS and his henchmen.

Exactly. There is no standard of fairness or equity in discipline for owners.

We might wish there was, but there isn't.

I think that the only reason or at least the major reason their legacies have a chance to survive at any level is because of the tremendous start they have had this season. If Brady was having a mediocre year or worse a Peyton Manning type year you would not hear the end of it.

I posted a gif of jack Nicholson. If having a laugh is going to hurt your feelings, I won't respond to your posts.

Things Kraft could have done:

1. Not fire 2 employees when they did nothing wrong. If the NFL wanted them fired, the NFL should've done so.

2. Appealed, if possible.

3. Called out Goodell in the press as a witchhunt and point out the Jets ties to the NFL offices.

4. Been there during Brady's appeal, if he cared more about Brady than letting a corrupt Commissioner try to maintain unchecked power

5. Not be seen hugging Goodell.

6. Not make the claim in private owners meetings 'whats good for the league matters more to me than the integrity of an investigation against my team'

7. Not backed Goodell during the Ray Rice fiasco when a Judge basically ruled that Goodell lied about what Ray said.

8. Not backed Goodell after they did a SpyGate like embellishment of the Saints BountyGate issue

9. Actually fought against Spygate penalties or atleast said 'We were caught using a camera 80 feet from where it should've been'. Instead he said something like 'I was disappointed in BB and believe he'll never commit such a crime again'

Kraft was lucky enough to hire BB (when he did so, he didn't know Bill would be the greatest coach of all time) -- and he was smart enough to stay hands off when Brady replaced Bledsoe;
And Kraft gets to stand in the locker room so all the players can hug him and he can say great job to them after the game, as if a Billionaire has any ability to relate to professional athletes.
But he's been terrible at defending his team's reputation.

Evidently, some of you are having trouble grasping the fact that, despite the fact that we all know that that the League operates on a Socialist basis ~ and that water is indeed wet ;)~ it runs on that basis because the Capitalists who run it have figured out that keeping as many Teams as possible competitive is the best way to jack up universal Fan Interest in the Games, drive TeleVision Ratings and Advertising Revenue, and make a Profit. Hence: Capitalists employing contextual Socialism for Capitalistic reasons.

You're welcome. :D

Brady might not play another ten years, but just a normal amount for someone in the shape he's in is going to destroy the record books probably more than any professional athlete in the history of sports.

I don't follow hockey that much, but Gretsky, Babe Ruth, Wilt Chamberlain, Jabbar [individual records] or any athlete i can think of who is going to be 20% or more than every other player at that position for years to come.

The Lombardi will be the Belichick and Brady will so dominate the record book they may change the name of the league to the National Brady Ball League.

Y'all worry too much. The game and legacy will be decided on the field, just like we want it.

Fair Enough. And as I can manage to sum up both sides as I did just there, without arguing my own side yet again, but you feel the need to restate your opinion yet once again, I'll let you have the last word on this.

You're welcome. :D
