Patriots Harrassed by NFL/Jets Over Bugging/Electronics Suspicions - Conflicting Reports

As much as I hate this and think this could lead to someone trying to set the Pats up, the NFL(Goodell) better tread carefully because this could have the potential to backfire and blow up in their faces.

I can see him as the employee but do you think he is also the source? Because this story makes the NFL and the jets look bad, IMO.

Mods, please don't merge these threads. This is an entirely new development that both expands upon and contradicts official reports.

Disagree. It is the same event. Albeit a different report, but the various reports inform and illuminate each other. Having a single thread makes it easier to tie the discussion together. It also helps keep it from spawning more shadow threads and diluting the football content on the board.

So let me get this straight the Jets publicly deny this hours ago and now here we are with this new leak. Someone please wake me up from the BS storm.

Interesting. The plot thickens.

See new link, below. It's mind-blowing. Some tidbits quoted here, but read the whole thing.

From Florio's article:

Also from Florio's article:

Think he's talking about the headset problems during the Steelers game? Was this another sting attempt?

From the Herald article (below):

And more....

**** is getting out of hand. Think what it will be like by the time it's 15-0, will make the Giant's game to close '07 season seem low key.

So what will the Rats be penalized with for making yet another false accusation against the Pats?

I brought it up in the other thread and I disagree. This deserves its own thread. What has happened here is Harassment in the very least with Patriots employees and possibly much greater. This IS a very big deal.

It won't be. Outside of New England they will say, "thank goodness they are keeping an eye on the Cheatriots!", if they are paying attention to it at all. Nor will Kraft do anything about it.

Wow. No proof of anything and they go ahead and interrogate people and grab their phones. These people are out of their minds. I hope they keep on acting on these rumors, because one of them will piss the pats off so much it's going to guarantee a Super Bowl for us.

This is league harassment and Kraft needs to take a stand! Now is the time for Kraft to respond with Blunt Force and not back down. This is OUR team. Defend the WALL!

but we know better. They were doing an intensive investigation of Gillette electronic systems in hopes of finding anything to accuse the Pats of additional cheating. Probably triggered by the opening game problems with Steelers headsets. A failed sting attempt.

Report: Sweep at Gillette found nothing suspicious

Agree it is a big deal. The other is noise, this is the hard core. But it's still one event: a league sting attempt targeting the Patriots.

**** these weasels.

ESPN report mentioned both, claims they're unrelated. Damage control. Trying to defuse and minimize.

Need to get the WaPo reporters, maybe the WSJ, and Steph Stradley spun up on this....

So why 10 minutes later did you make a separate thread?
That's about the ESPN claim that they are separate and unrelated. If this deserves its own thread so does that. If not, they'll get merged.

The amazing thing to me is, despite all the digging the NFL is doing, trying their best to find something else to pin on the Pats (headset-gate, bug-gate), it must be KILLING them to come out publicly to state they've found that the Pats are not guilty of any wrongdoing. Yet the haters just eat it up stating this is proof that the Pats are still cheating (though they haven't since week 1 of 2007) and Kraft is in bed with Goodell. Sometimes I think I'm in crazy town when I read their comments.
