Pat patriot throwback jersey?

I am aware that a couple of years ago the NFL changed a helmet rule, in which all players are supposed to only wear 1 specific helmet for the year, I guess it has something to do with concussions (stupid rule IMO).

I would assume this is the reason why we haven't worn them since week 7 vs NYJ in 2012 (Hernandez in that game a had a big catch that game hahaha). I haven't seen conformation that this is why they are not worn anymore, but like I said I assume it is.

My question is would there be any possible way to crate a throwback alternate that doesn't involve the white helmet? I know the white helmet is a key part to the uniform, but I would really like to see the red jerseys come back in some way at least once a year

I mean Green Bay made it work with they're alternates. Before the rule they had these kakhi/beige colored helmets now they have the same helmet as their normal uniforms but with the "G" decal taken off

The old unis have sentimental value for me, but I can survive without them. However, the red jerseys stirred my bloodlust (maybe my Viking genes in play

) like no other, and I'd love to see them as a permanent alternate.

There's nothing quite like a shirt that says, "Today you die."

It's clearly another NFL sabotage because the throwback uniform makes Devin McCourty return kickoffs for TDs.

I love both of them. Should do two throwback games a season, maybe one on the road in the marshmallows.

Actually those road throwback ones are my favorites. I'd be alright with those as permanent road jerseys and the blues as permanent home. They're my top uniforms on Madden!

I have BAD memorys of the years with those jerseys, which may include throwing toys at my tv and trying to not swear loud enough that my mom would notice. Nice to see everyone here is under 30 though and doesn't remember the good old days that the patriots were once on the same level of suck as the jets.

Everything with that logo should be burned and never spoken of again.

Meh. Not like bringing them back would turn Tom Brady into Rohan Davey

now this is a classic case of PTSD you clearly have all the signs and symptoms but you definitely need to work through them. Embrace Pat patriot! He is your friend!

Actually, there were some suck teams in the early 1990s, but there were some halfway decent teams in the 1980s. The offense was decent enough, and that run to finish 1985 was awesome, except for the ****ty Super Bowl.

Que ... all that crap about the 1776 British red coats. I'm pretty sure the original patriots weren't wearing pink armbands either. Bring back the red throwbacks!

Probably the sharpest looking uniform in NFL history.

A lot of other fan bases give this uniform due props as well.

The 1963-era road whites (which NE wore once during the AFL 50th anniversary season) are my all-time favorite NE uniform.
