Boomer Esiason: Brady is the GOAT. Chris Carter: On Verge of GOAT Status

This game was special though. He carried the team on his back and accounted for pretty much all of the offensive yards. Amendola and Gronk were tremendous but 11 or so drops and he still dominated. All of this without running the ball against the best defense (statistically) in the league, behind a make shift offensive line.

Great post. Some tweets that confirm what you've been saying

He did yesterday on the CBS post game wrap up. He said he is clearly the GOAT.
He also said it after the Super Bowl...I think on an HBO show. Called Belichick the GOAT as well.

Too bad Brady can't play mad all the time. I swear if he falls off I am going to kick his dog in front of him and run. I think i can out run him anyway :p

Help get him going again.

I'll help.
I'll spend the night with Giselle!

Nothing is too good for my team!

And, after all this time and all they have said, I care what either of these guys think because.........?

My 8 year old son said to me the other day, "Dad....look where they ranked Brady in the QBR ratings.....are they serious?" hahahaha

BSPN can't even fool an 8 year old.

A few other GOATs for the Patriots:

Play by Play Announcer: Gil Santos
One-Year Rental: Darrelle Revis
Slot Receiver: Wes Welker (I expect some blowback here)
Fredo Corleone: Eric Mangini
Sports Law Attorney: Jeffrey Kessler, J.D.
Fan Forum Founder: Ian Logue

One-Year Rental: Ted Washington...same result, much small cap damage!
Slot Receiver: The Squirrel...not even close... clutch playS resulting in CHAMPIONSHIP

I despise Mike Greenberg with a passion...a vengeance...I twitter him every day to let him know this is FOR LIFE. I always refer to him as Green Goony and constantly stick every scummy facet of his Rats down his throat ad nauseum. HE is the prototypical green garbage eating scumbag Jet moron.

Eerily similar game to the super bowl yesterday. Minus the stage.

14-17 2 TDs 150 yards in the 4th quarter against a vaunted defense.

13-15 2 TDs 134 yds in the 4th quarter against a vaunted defense.

We talked about this leaving the stadiium yesterday. In addition, both were triggered by 3rd and long completions to Edelcritter.

I texted my (non Pats fan) friends about halfway through the second quarter:

"Brady looks unbelievable today".

I don't even know why I thought that, the stats didn't look great at the time. It was just how he was persevering against a ton of adversity between the drops, the defense, and the injuries to start. Part of it was the scramble in the red zone; it was like he was doing everything he could to will this team to a victory even if it was out of his comfort zone.

In the end, his passing stats weren't phenomenal (although very good); it was just that if you watched the game you had a feeling about just how well he played even if you couldn't quantify it. It was more of an emotional feeling than anything.

That's why it's so dumb when people say Brady is a "system QB" or runs a "dink and dunk" offense. That was an otherworldly mental and physical performance by our guy that no other QB could have pulled off. It is great to hear my gut feeling being echoed by the national analysts (not that I ever needed them, but a lot of other simple-minded fans around the country need to be told what to think).

He already is the GOAT. I want him to finish with atleast 5 rings so it's not worth debating.

Can't forget about Bryan Cox either. Corey Dylan was close (he really lost it after that season).

By the time Brady is done there won't be any debate, the only questions will be about the chance there is for any player to ever pass him. If Brady and Belichick go the next four year at the same rate they have done so far he walks with every meaningful record their is for a QB. And while we are starting to hear a small drumbeat in the media that Brady is the GOAT I think that is going to grow as the season goes on , increases substantially when they realize he is playing in his tenth AFCCG, and blows up if they win this Super Bowl. After this season he will be well entrenched in the GOAT spot and when he hangs them up there will no longer be any debate.

I still think he retires with 6 rings, 8 or more Conference Championships, 30 plus playoff wins, and over 200 wins. No one else will touch those marks.

Brady is playing at a whole new level of great. He just doesn't get rattled anymore.

On top of that there were a few plays where I could hear him putting everyone in the right place before the snap.

"Gronk get on the line".
" (Edelman) Get over here"
" I'm in the Gun"

Some of those passes yesterday were just spectacular. One just over the tip of Revis's hand and the Amendola TD between two defenders. Gronk's TD was just too sweet.

Hahaha nice post. No blowback here. In my mind at this point I still give the nod to Welker BUT barring injury i think Jules surpasses him

Well **** I mean he got on a SI cover that said "Greatest Offensive Lineman of all Time" :D

I would probably give that distinction to Munoz though. Hannah the greatest Guard however.

At the time that was on the SI cover it was true. Agree on Munoz a decade later though
