NY Post - Test of Jets Defense

Grab your popcorn.

"If there is a defense built to take down Brady, it is this one. No. 1 defense. And if there is a quarterback built to beat a defense like this, it is Brady."
This is feared Jets' defense chance to begin its legend

It just goes to show how one-sided their thinking is. It's NEVER about just the offense or the defense. It's about the whole team, including special teams, coaches et al. FYI: people make this mistake- in general -when they only think with (just) their head, instead of the whole human being. ;)

The Jets initially dominated the TOP but ended with an average 33 minutes. As good as their defense is, it will take a better opposing offense to defeat this team.

We'll see these guys again in week 16, and hopefully the game won't matter.

Brady 32/54, 355 yards, 2 TD's, 0 turnovers.. and 10 dropped passes, how did that vaunted Jets Defense do??.. Will go with the second part of the quote.. "if there is a quarterback built to beat a defense like this, it is Brady."

I believe it was 12 dropped passes. They should have let Dobson in for the rest of the game after lafells third drop. Fortunately 12 dropped passes is not a regular thing we excell at and we still managed to win against the best defense in the league.

Correction - 3 TD's one rushing and finished as the team's leading rusher. :)

Hopefully it will matter to preserve the unblemished record.

For all the self-inflicted wounds today, the Pats showed us that they can handle adversity!

Lafell needs the snaps. He's going to be starting for this team. It's not as if Dobson was making all sorts of clean catches out there, either.

The Jets defense didn't stop the Pats as much as the drops and a couple of questionable play calls. Why did they go for a pass on 3rd and 1/2 yard inside the 20 late in the game with a chance to go up 2 scores?

Someone handcuff Lafell to a jugs machine pronto.

Dobson had two good catches that I remember and those drives led to some points too. It's a long season lafell will gets his snaps but Dobson should get some too because it just helps our team when all our wrs can play.

They were passing all game long, and they pretty much had to. That's what happens when you've got an undersized center, a backup level LG, a mediocre rookie RG, and just 2 RBs, and you're going against the best 3-4 DL in the NFL.

At least LaFell got all those drops out of his system and he'll be raring to go vs Miami......Would be nice to get Sheard and Lewis back for that game also....Noticed Miami got a ton of yards after the catch....Houston can't cover/tackle worth a tinker's damn....

Dobson seems to double catch every throw to him.

After last year's performance, I'm willing to give Lafell a pass. Actually, I'll give him a mulligan. He'd probably drop my pass too.

I disagree. Though this Jets D is very good it is not the ideal D to stop Brady cause it is not an elite pass rushing D. They did a lot of things well but often gave Brady too much time.

A D built to stop Brady needs to pass rush and pass defend as they 2 best things they do. They can defend the pass but the DL is more built to stop the run than rush the passer.

The Broncos are more built to stop Brady IMO. But their O is not as good as the Jets (not often you say that)
