Or at least suspended? He got zero discipline for this...

His 4 game suspension for pot was not extended.

Integrity?

Richardson was clocked for allegedly driving 143 miles per hour and then resisting arrest via a high-speed chase on July 14...

then "increased his speed, drove off the highway, and sped through a traffic light to try to get away" when officers tried to stop his car. There was a 12-year-old in the car...

contributing to the delinquency of a minor?

charged with resisting arrest, exceeding the speed limit, following too closely, failing to use lights and failing to obey a traffic signal...

Richardson appeared to reach for something between his feet as he was told to stop. The report said a fully loaded semi-automatic handgun was recovered from underneath the driver's side floor mat. The report also the said the officer reported smelling the strong odor of burned marijuana coming from the vehicle.

Jets DE Sheldon Richardson busted for allegedly driving 143 mph, resisting arrest

With a loaded semi automatic handgun under the seat, driving over 143 MPH and running a red light

*Contributing to the delinquency of a minor?*

"NFL Integrity" is one of the greatest oxymorons of all time.. sounds good, but means crap.

I really have no answer for that question.

Is there a precedent for suspension in a related circumstance?

Great clip. Do you remember what the question was?

IIRC the question was asked at a league meeting in AZ and was, (paraphrasing) "Do you keep in touch with Gronk during the offseason?" This was 2013ish...

Then they asked about Welker, etc.

I ask others to confirm for sure..

The Post-Dispatch said Richardson was charged with resisting arrest, exceeding the speed limit, following too closely, failing to use lights and failing to obey a traffic signal. Richardson is from St. Louis, and the incident happened in that area.

He wasn't charged with delinquency of a minor, having a gun in a car (which I don't believe is even a crime in most of the U.S.), or having a car that smelled like marijuana (which is also probably not a crime).

So the question is, has any player ever been suspended for resisting arrest, and traffic violations? I don't know, but if not, then that solves the mystery.

I thought that he'd be suspended for one lousy game for this, possibly two at the most. I remember discussing it when the arrest occurred. I certainly didn't expect him to go to jail--lol.

That said, where do you think we live where having a semi automatic weapon in the car "isn't a crime in most areas?" Unless he had the valid credentials AND a concealed carry permit (or was driving to/from an approved firing range), he very well could've been charged with illegal possession of a firearm, and possibly illegal transportation. I suppose whether or not the weapon was loaded may have come into play, as well as where the ammunition was located, but he certainly avoided a potentially serious charge.

Supposedly, the 12 year old kid wasn't going to cooperate and claimed that he was never scared etc, so that's likely why that angle wasn't pursued. Again, it definitely could've been.

The smell of marijuana, while not necessarily a crime in and of itself, certainly allows for probable cause to search the parties/vehicle involved, and possibly even blood test them to see if impairment occurred via DUI.

I'd have to read the specifics again, but is it possible that he had a "fall guy" who took the blame for the gun and/or weed?

Because he's a combination of famous, NFL & rich. I should design a new monopoly 21st century edition. There are different laws for different socio-economic groups.

Driving 143 miles an hour in Missori would be willful reckless driving with a minimum of 3 days in jail, maximum 90 days. If over 150, 5 days.

Has he gone to trial?

Has he gone to trial?

Doesn't matter to Goodell now, does it? He was clocked at 143. That's enough for a suspension, since the commissioner doesn't need to wait for a conviction.

I'm just using hyperbole to point out what a sh*theel Richardson is and what a crook the commish is.

There's virtually no gun laws in Missouri, but I had to laugh that reaching under your seat for a loaded semiautomatic handgun after being stopped is only "resisting arrest."

Because the commissioner of the NFL is Roger Goodell.
