Tom Brady changes his mind; tells New York reporters that he wants to play another ten years

I would love for my 7 month old to actually see Brady play at Gillette and remember it

Absolutely. You never know what you have. No way do you move on from someone you know well--especially Brady. 85% of the GOAT is a Pro Bowl QB.

By the way, I draft Christian Hackenberg in the 5th round because I'm trading Jimmy Garopolo in the offseason.

I wouldn't draft Christian Hackenberg to sell hot dogs.

He sucks.

If the Patriots can trade Jimmy for perhaps the first pick in the 2nd round next year they should seriously consider it.

I think they got a 7th rounder for the guy who got them to 11-5 in 2008.

You're dreaming about a second rounder for Garropolo.

I don't give one f.uck about Jimmy, we ride with Brady until the end like Thelma and Louise.

Some of us are fans of the NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS and have been fans of the Patriots since BEFORE the Brady era. It's great that many more have jumped on since they started becoming popular and all, but some of us are lifers and won't be jumping off when he retires.

Love TB12 and he deserves LOTS OF ROOM on this question, but not if he is driving the team to a "Thelma and Louise" ending.

Tom's dad knows it and has talked about it very frankly in the media.

can he play at 48? if anybody can do it, it's brady. but it's not up to brady. it's up to BB. the moment we struggle as a team, and brady doesn't look like brady, then it's gonna be over.

and i doubt there will be a team lining up to sign 43 year old QB.

It's not talked about enough, but it may be the most important development for the New England Patriots in years: Brady's mobility training prolonged his career.

It's literally a gamechanger. He has said recently that he adopted the tethered leash training after the 2013 season.

Last year before the Pats-Redskins preseason game down here, my nephew and I watched him for a good 90 minutes before the game run sprints in all directions tethered on a elastic leash like a rabid dog. He wasn't going to play that night (1st PS game in 2014) but he was easily the hardest working person on that field in the early evening.

I'm not sure what his future would look like right now if he didn't adopt that training.

Watch any game last year or this year and you can see his progress and development with his mobility in the pocket. I thought it reached its height in the Playoffs/SB last year (that 3rd and 14 pass to Edelman in the SB was one of the great, unsung QB mobility plays of all time given the circumstances). but he has only gotten better with it this year - - I did not think it possible. Some of his rollouts and step ups for TD passes to Edelman (or the one Sunday to Blount) are plays HE WAS INCAPABLE of years ago.

He is a DIFFERENT QB today. And a better one for it. It is almost as if he reinvented a new career.

I credit Giselle for much of this. She keeps him on a tight leash at home so he's working the mobility issue Every Single Day!

I honestly believe that the Brady/Garoppolo decision will be the most important personnel decision any franchise has faced since Brady/Bledsoe, if only because Brady will be 40 in 2017, and heading into uncharted waters. At a minimum, if they haven't resolved it by the start of FA in 2017, it will be one of the big storylines of that spring/summer (as if other fanbases weren't sick enough of hearing about New England :D ).

Yeah, I think that would be a pretty difficult situation. Brady may not want to leave....and Jimmy will not want to stay.

Brady is playing out of his mind right now, and could possibly play at this level through the end of his contract in 2017. At that point, if he hasn't started to decline, it would be utterly foolish to let him play for another team.

On the other hand.....the Pats spent a 2nd round pick on Garoppolo, and I highly doubt that they would spend all these years developing him, just to let him walk away.

It's so hard to develop quarterbacks nowadays....let alone find and draft them. I'm really starting to wonder if it's worth using the franchise tag on Garroppolo. I know....crazy right?

Why can't Brady be the Nolan Ryan of football?
