He's kinda right. A SB50 win would make Pats fans--and I say this with all due affection--absolutely ****ing insufferable. We already kinda are, to the point that I really can't blame anyone who's fed up with the fanbase as a whole. I didn't feel that way when I lived in New England, but living in California has exposed me to a whole new kind of fan that the Patriots attract, and a lot of them are so annoying that even I can't stand them and we're supposed to be on the same side.
Throw in the weird self-flagellation/persecution complex that we had even before Spygate/Deflategate, mix it with the fact that a SB50 win would rile us up into pretty much the most aggressive "**** everyone, we rule everything" mode that the sporting world has ever seen, and... yeah, I get it. If I was anything but a Pats fan--and maybe a Saints fan--I would want nothing to do with a Pats repeat.
Having said all of that, **** all those people. I would love a SB50 almost as much for how much all of the Brady-is-a-cheater bandwagoners would hate it as for the joy of watching your team win. I love watching jealous, bitter, weird people like realize how futile their pathetic indignation is. **** everyone, go Pats.
