From Charles Pierce, after the Ravens game:

while he is fluent in the PatriotSpeak that is characteristic of all of his teammates, there is something undefinably goofy in the way he rolls out the clichés. It’s not that he doesn’t take them seriously. He does. It’s just that you can see in him a lot more percolating behind all the talk about doing your job and letting your teammates do theirs, and playing one game at a time, and so forth. It’s not just that he believes it. It’s that he believes it. Some players are Belichick converts. Gronkowski is a Belichick acolyte.

Yes I love this as well. And as the article mentions, he comes across as sincere in his devotion to the hoodie philosophy. He really gets it.

Of course this is the same guy who has not spent one penny of his salary since his career started. He lives off the endorsement money and saves the rest for a rainy day. He seems goofy but he's dumb like a fox. He also takes extremely good care of himself and clearly loves the game.

You have to love Gronk, he's one of those guys that is happy and for some reason we all want him to be really happy. It goes against our Northeastern mentality and we thank Gronk for this.

I can't really remember any athlete quite like Gronk. There have been lots of guys who have been gregarious. Lots who have been revered by teammates and players around the league. Lots of played the game with total joy. A few have been as productive and unique physically.

To be all of those things, consistently, and without a hint of pettiness or jealousy, is a truly great thing.

We never thought we would find someone ever like Brady, and we probably won't. As time moves forward, we will probably be saying the same things about Gronk.

When he did his Gronk chant on the stage at Radio City Music Hall, shortly after getting drafted, I remember thinking... wtf?

But, sure enough, that's Gronk. They broke the mold with this one.

If Gronk was a golden retriever...

Gronk IS a golden retriever :p

"In GRONK I Trust!!!".......

The minute the Pats picked him in the 2010 draft I was all in, then he did that snarky "In Yo Face New York" celebration with his family....then I got goosebumps and knew what type of player we were getting right there and then....He's also Polish which only makes me even more partial, considering I'm a 1/3 myself. He's just a once in a lifetime talent and I'm so proud that he's a Patriot for life, I hope

thank the football gods for the "Skis", GRONK and GHOST

I think Gronk wrestles with trying always to say the right thing, and sometimes comes off as contrived and robotic..

Would prefer this to the idiotic banter of the "Spirited Buffalo Bills" team or other guys who throw their team under the bus, Indianapolis..

When this is all said and done we will have Belichick Stadium, Brady Plaza and Gronkowski Concourse..
