What are your thoughts on Todd Bowles?

They have zero future. Zero. No QB and too good even now, to draft one. The D is either old and overpaid and getting older, or young and nearing massive pay days that the former won't allow them to be able to pay. The Jets are not in a good situation.
May be true, but I thought they were gonna suck this year. Looks like they are coming to play.

So far, Bowles has been great. He really has the Jets turned around pretty quickly. Granted the competition hasn't been great. His defense is really good and he has the offense playing better than expected.

The real test for him is when he faces some adversity and teams get more of a book on his system and tendencies.

Let's not forget that he designed the AZ defense that shut down Brady, Gronk, Welker, Lloyd, Edelman, Ridley, Woodhead and Co., allowing Kevin Kolb a rare win back in 2012.

Negative. They didn't shut down d*ck. Key points..Edelman wasn't Edelman and the O in general is better now. Couple of plays I remember. One is Gronk being yanked backwards after being grabbed by his jersey only to have a 1st down pass miss his hands by an inch. Massive PI that wasn't called, one of a metric ton that game.

The other was at the end of the game, I thought it was an interception that got nullified on some BS call. Maybe it was something other than that, but I remember being livid over it.

So, in short that game wasn't what it seemed. Some of those players still on the team are so much better now as well.

Bowles is a solid coach, good with X's and O's, doesn't say much to the press, and prepares his team well for each game.

And he coaches the $&@! Jets.

I don't like that. No, I don't.

Yeah, you definitely can't get a quality QB in the 3rd or 6th round. ;)

Well he has matched the win total from Rex's 2014 Jets after only 5 games. I like Bowles. Seems like a decent, hardworking guy. Jets have a good defense and run game. An adequate offense to beat the weaker teams. I'm looking forward to their games against the Bills. It's going to be interesting to see our offense against that defense.

Let's not start diminishing TB or RW by telling ourselves they can be found every year. Doesn't work that way.

Bowles' s no rex ryan. This jets game will be tough. I think our defense has to create turnovers

I remember that game - ghost missed a Game winning Fg. But who was the guy on AZ who boasted he shut down the pats.? I thought it was a defensive coord but dont think it was todd bowles.

That was Ray Horton. Bowles was DC in Philly in 2012 I believe.

hopefully, skrine misses this game. then they'd have no one who can cover edelman unless they use revis...but he wont be able to keep up thanks to all of the stacks/picks we run!
cromartie's an old man these days not scared of him. same with both of their safety's.
pryor can't cover anyone....we obviously wont be able to run the ball but that has never stopped us.

quick passes all day/tom throws around 50 times....this should be a win.

on bowles, i like him. despise all of the nasty jets fans though!

2014
Late 1st - Bridgewater
2nd round - Carr, Jimmy

2013
Bad year

2012
3rd - Wilson, Foles

2011
2nd - Dalton
6th - Tyrod (He's serviceable)

It's doable. It just depends on the year. And it's not like the #1 overall picks are a sure thing either. The issue with QB is that they need 2-3 years to sit and develop.

I don't know much about him. But I do remember that when Brandon Marshall said that Tom Brady's suspension was overturned because Brady is white, Todd Bowles called Marshall's comments "well-warranted." (link)

That's all we needed to know. DEAD!

Really? That's terrible. He shouldn't be allowed to get away with that.

You're right and wrong. You overstate on the old/young/overpaid thing--every team has those challenges, and if handled properly, the Jets are generally well-positioned.

You're right on the QB. Getting one requires excellent draft position or a bit of luck. With very few exceptions (Dilfer) you need an elite QB (or, like Flacco, one who can imitate elite for a stretch) to win, and the Jets don't have that.

Bowles seems good. He's obviously a breath of fresh air for them after Ryan. As to whether he can truly build a contender, way too early to tell--they've had some early success, but that's the easy part.

The best thing that happened to him was IK

Better than Seattles? Remember the O plays the D. Thankfully the Pats players aren't chicken littles. I have zero fear of the Jets. Zero.
Seattle should be 1-5 right now. Their defense in the clutch has been abysmal.
