Week 7 NFL Television: Pats-Jets (CBS early) and Cowboys-Giants (FOX late) get primary distribution

John Morgan

Even though the Patriots are on CBS, displaced New England fans should be happy to hear that the Pats-Jets game will still receive extensive broadcast distribution throughout the United States. Ian Eagle and Dan Fouts will be the announcers on CBS between these two original AFL rivals, as they meet for the 114ᵗʰ time; the Patriots lead the all-time series 58-54-1.

Dan Fouts *facepalm*. I bet he will mention manning more in a game he is not even playing in.

Ian Eagle, the former Jets play-by-play guy...and Dan Fouts.

Fantastic.

Very surprised it's not Nantz/Simms.

^^ not buying that excuse. The Revis factor alone should have been enough. There's no other AFC game as remotely compelling as this one. Only explanation is that they'll be in London ...

Very surprised it's not Nantz/Simms.

They only work the 4pm primary game when CBS has the doubleheader. For example, Pats/Cowboys last week and Chargers/Packers yesterday.

CBS clearly didn't expect this game to be as big as it is.

It's just the fact that it isn't a doubleheader week for CBS. Had it been this game would have been the 4pm game.

So when CBS only has a single game Eagle and Fouts are the #1 team. Except for when CBS has a single game week 1

Nope. Harlan and Gannon have the London game. But see my above post of why they aren't calling it.

Fantastic.
I don't know why but it bothers me immensely that Eagle pronounces his name Eye-an instead of Eee-an. It grates on me every time he says it. I always think of Gene Wilder saying, 'It's Frahnken-steen" in the Mel Brooks movie.

I feel bad for you guys that have to suffer through those two. I will no doubt be watching this from a bar so I won't have to hear them.
As will I, at the Bears Den, which will include pre-game & half-time pokes of the Game Day Spliff.
