Some good #Patriots injury news: Ailments for LT Marcus Cannon (toe) and DE Jabaal Sheard (ankle) are considered minor.
9:28 AM - 19 Oct 2015

Nothing on Slater yet.

The special teams can make it without Slater. Sheard would be a huge loss and would force both Jones and Nink to play a high percentage of snaps again. Didn't think Cannon's was serious. I hope he's back this week and next Thursday. Two really good defensive lines are on the docket for the Pats OL.

Glad to hear. It seems like the injuries are starting to pile up just as we prepare to play the division rival Jets, who are playing well, in a crucial game.

Off the top of my head -
LT Nate Solder - out for season - IR
OT Marcus Cannon - banged up toe, reportedly minor
WR Julian Edelman - finger, stayed in game but appeared to affect his play
LB Dont'a Hightower - ribs - missed 1.5 games so far
DE Jabaal Sheard - ankle, reportedly minor
WR/ST Ace Matthew Slater - knee - apparently serious - was carted off - possible IR

On the plus side we are getting 3 PUP players back including WR Brandon Lafell. Biggest concern to me is lack of depth and health at offensive tackle.

Per Jeff Howe:
"Edelman's finger is nothing new, been funky for awhile"

NBC made a story out of nothing..

If cannon's fine then i am not worried. I am still worried about our cb depth

I agree. It didn't affect his game. Those drops were not something you often see from Edelman, but he has one of those games every year. He will bounce back next week.

Umm slater was carted off?

Are you sure?

He was on a cart from the locker room to the team bus.

I still don't understand how he got hurt. Someone landed on top of him?

The one on the P6 was awful. Plus the one before that at the start of the game that hit him in the chest.

JE11 might have been a little too amped up I think.

Actually its 4 (Stork, Chris Jones, JoJo and Dane Fletcher).

I thought it was a cramp in the finger/hand ...
I have had that often and it looks just like that.

Hightower was practicing last week. I expect him to return against the Jets barring setback.

Thanks, all. My bad on the actuals. Meant to say that 4 players are coming back and 4 roster decisions need to be made.

Good news on Sheard and Cannon, but we still can't be sure on their readiness for this week. Mediots like to throw around words like "minor" when THEIR last major injury was banging a knee against a table. I won't be surprised to see both of those guys plus Hightower, all be "limited" in practice all week. Still we've heard worst news.

BTW- did the two assholes ever mention Sheard getting dinged last night. I was wondering about no hearing his name last night, given how prominent he'd been in the 4 previous games. In a sense I was kind of comforted to hear there was a reason.

I don't know about nothing. He certainly was dropping balls last night.

Supposedly, Blount had x-rays for some unknown injury today.
