Time for another banner - "Dumbest play in NFL History - 10/18/15 - PARTICIPANT"

I wouldn't mind if the Pats put up a gag banner saying exactly that just to troll the Colts. Haha.

In less enlightened times, we called that a Chinese fire drill.

Jim Irsay's Swingin' Gate.

Nope, that is still the buttfumble, though indy did bring their A game trying to overtake the jets. Also, I enjoyed the penalty even more then, whatever the hell that was. "Illegal formation......... the entire right side". Thought I was watching a sports movie like The Replacements or something there for a second.

The butt fumble is still the undisputed champ, but this one was in some ways more embarrassing for the other team because it was intentional and planned out, practiced etc. The butt fumble was merely a chance encounter between gluteus and cranium.

Griffersnapper
Snap one from the Griffer

Was Gene Hackman on the sidelines drawing up that play to free up Jimmy Chitwood coming around the picket fence?

Who told you to snap the ball? Did I tell you to snap the ball?!?!

It was shortly after this play that Jim Zorn got fired.

If they had been lined up properly and if they had snapped it a second or two after they put on the shift it actually probably would have worked -- there was only one Patriot over the ball for a few seconds.

But Indy was too dumb to notice that. And of course they were lined up wrong anyways.

Wouldn't be surprised if this was the beginning of the end of Pagano, especially if they lose 2 of the next 3 games heading into the bye.

BTW the ironic part of all of this that Collinsworth and Michaels completely missed is that the Colts attempted to give the Patriots a little of their "own medicine" but using unorthodox formations. When you mess with the bull..........That part of it could have only been better if it was the Ravens.

Bolden read this play right from the start; he was all over it.

But he was the only person there for a few ticks. Center would have engaged him and they'd have had a good shot at picking up the short yardage they needed.

Trick or Treat - Colts edition....

I've got the PERFECT name!

"The Karma Play"

Why?

Think about it, it is karma for the bs deflategate. The media won't stop talking about it and it lost them the game! The perfect name!

The best part of the play was the fact that Indy had ten days to practice and get it right. EDIT: I just read that one of the Indy players said they've been working on that play for OVER A YEAR

Meanwhile, the Pats put plays in at dinner the night before a SB and it works to perfection.

When you think about it, losing the game because of such a stupid play (and don't deny that it did win the game) might have been a better way to win than a blowout.

That team should be embarrassed, but I doubt they will be.

I like the name I heard in the Fitzy thread.

Duncepunt.

I know he's not a favorite here, but Doyel's article on the fourth-and-no play is hilarious.
Late in the third quarter. Colts trail 27-21. Fourth-and-3 at their 37. Punt team on the field, McAfee back to punt, and then … what? What on earth? Eight Colts on the line of scrimmage stand up and jog out wide to the right, but they don’t know where to line up. Half of them are on the line of scrimmage. Half are behind them. McAfee is 15 yards back. Receiver Griff Whalen is hunched over at center, safety Colt Anderson is lined up at quarterback, and I’ve never written a dumber sentence than this one.

Doyel: Idiotic play cost Colts the game
Oh, doyel has written dumber stentences than that, hes written whole paragraphs, dare i say whole articles dumber than that.
