Pats Claim CB Rashaan Melvin

I am not high on verner like some are here. I prefer Smith or maybe mathis even though he's 35.

Any idea what happened to verner? Made the pro bowl two years ago and goes to tampa. Has he been awful this year?

I watched just the Pats O plays and focused solely on him. I'm not sure where PFF gives him the 12-15 224 either. No question he let up some catches and was killed on the JE11 pass to DA and in the 4th Qtr but he played a ton of zone and the throw and catch by TB to Jojo was an elite play.

I feel a lot better about him than I did 24hrs ago.

Maybe they can sign Melvin White off of the Ram's practice squad? He's had experience playing with Carolina and has decent size at 6-1.

Ravens just waived Charles James, who they valued more than Melvin. James lacks Melvin's length. Fletcher available if healthy now. Knows the system.

I hope they give Charles James a shot.. It would be hilarious if both Melvin and James came in and shored up the secondary for us.. And it would send the Ravens fans ballistic..

Maybe the Browns would move on from Pierre Desir. Gilbert has been acting more like a pro over the last month and maybe this allows them to move Desir. Great size, but learning the nfl game as he came from a small school.
