It's a shame, really wanted him for this game. But he will be needed much more next week against the Jets.

Unfortunately, we don't have a lot of personnel to PLAY nickel and dime...........

Hightower is good enough that I don't mind being precautionary with him. Thankfully his replacement is Mayo. This also means we might see some more Jonathan Freeny or Jon Bostic makes his much anticipated debut.

can see the colts matching him up against their tight ends. someone like fleener would toast him

Covering fleener could be a problem.but think collins will play him. Depends who is the QB though. I was reading posters from colts fans on reddit and they say last two games their OC has changed the game plan to a more West coast offense with 2 step drops to short completions which has helped their line and helped them move the ball as compared to 6-7 step drops they were doing before. So could be a lot of bend dont break defense for the pats.

It's telling that when HT went down last week, Mayo and Freeny essentially shared his spot instead of just Mayo, which I think is what we all expected. It's probably got to do with Freeny's alleged speed/cover skills (which I didn't see at all in the preseason...dude looked like garbage).

I'd expect a nickel even in run situations, using Collins and Mayo on run downs and swapping Freeny in for Mayo otherwise. Maybe even dime with just Collins at LB for passing downs.

Shouldn't have any effect on the outcome of the game. Mainly bummed just because I love watching HT play.

Rest up big fella, hopefully we see him on the field next week.

Collins : sideline to sideline MLB. 4-1-6. With a backfield of Chung/McC/Malcolm/Harmon/Richards/Ryan.

I didn't think Mayo was good in coverage when he was a ProBowler.

I wrote it at the time earlier this week that this picture just didn't set right with me. I was surprised Stacey James let it get out:

I knew he wouldn't play & wouldn't be surprised if he's out for a few games....this game will be very close & i predict a 1 possession game...whoever has ball last wins...bad bad feeling about tomorrow night

We'll be fine its the colts, if they were to have a "breakout game" it won't be this season the way they've been looking so far

Someone asked what the injury was during the game in the game thread. I remember posting that the reporter mentioned a rib injury, but who knows? That was without doing an investigation..still on the field.
