Montana on whether he suspects the Pats: "They always say if you ain’t cheating, you ain’t trying"

Here is the thing which everyone is not focusing on. Why are the nfl network guys asking this question for no reason during a weekly interview? just for click bait.

Was listening to Boston born and brought up Bill Simmons this morning and he was discussing the most provincial sports fans in the world, Boston Fans.. and this is a pretty good example of that. Ever since we revolted against the British, the revolution has never ended..

I liked Montana much more when he was heard from less.

It was bad enough he united with Peyton Manning for those stupid Papa John's commercials. He needs to return to relative seclusion and return only for the halftime of Super Bowl 50.

I haven't heard so much double talk since...well I don't know when.
Sure Joe..."Like I said, if you ain't cheating , you ain't trying."
No Joe, that is what you said the Patriots are always saying.

The actual truth about that quote is that it was the motto that the Raiders proudly called their own for many years. I learned that from one of the top ten Raider shows and George Atkinson gushing about it as if he were a proud father.

LT said it one time after a tough loss to the Pats.

Now Joe is using it, I suppose to describe Jerry Rice.

The only people who don't say it are the Pats.

. Montana's titles are just as tainted as Brady's.

TBs titles are tainted? In the minds of moronic haters maybe. Or are they just as tainted as in both not tainted. TB never cheated, JM did. Even if a comparison was to be made there is a clear distinction between the two issues.

Seems to me he says everyone is looking for an advantage. Nothing in particular stands out as an attack but these are only excerpts I'm guessing. I have much more contempt for Aikman's *****-ass.

..Ever since we revolted against the British, the revolution has never ended..

Hah -- I make this point all the time. When fans across the country wonder why we're the way we are, they should just study some history, and thank us.

49ers didn't need warm Gatorade and a secret moonbase to win

The question was asked solely to get Joe to say something to keep the" Pats are cheaters" drum beat going. Joe didn't completely oblige but the headlines and the resulting rhetoric will be that he believes its the Pats that are the cheaters.

Reading the excerpt, it didn't really seem like the comments were an issue to me.

That said, I do agree with other posters -- given all the garbage the Patriots have dealt with, Montana should have just gone upstairs and masturbated.

Comcast just showed the clip. There's no way Montana was being anything other than a ****. When I only read the transcript, my reaction was "Meh...whatever.". Seeing it on film gave me a very different impression. Just speaking for myself.

But no-one talks or cares about it. If I'm guilty and no-one cares, that frees me up to point guilt at others and I get off scott free.

Gr8 example of that is when the 5-11 Broncos were caught filming the 49ers walkthrough.

Since the precedent had already been set with the Pats illegal filming, the Broncos fans, on the message boards that I visited, were wringing their hands because with the Pats' incident as precedent, they expected to be hammered harder than the Pats were.

When Goodell only slapped them on the wrist, they felt empowered to climb back up on their high horses and point judgmental fingers at the Pats.
