I claimed she had no significant injuries. Broken bones, dislocated joints, lacerations, etc. the king of thing most people would expect if body slammed by a 275 pound man, and thrown about.
She was severely bruised. If your best response is that there happened to not have been any broken bones, then that's pretty weak.

I never made that claim. I questioned your certainty.
I asked "What makes you think she didn't have any significant injuries?" You replied "The police report, the testimony, and she declined any medical attention."

So now that I've quoted the police report and the arrest record, I'll ask again: What part of the police report or courtroom testimony led you to believe she didn't have any significant injuries?

I mean, really. Is this all you have? She didn't have any broken bones, therefore no assault occurred?
I'm not claiming to know what happened. I'm pointing out that your belief is entirely based off her account.
My belief is based on the police report and the fact that in the one trial he had, Hardy was found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

I understand people affording the accused the presumption of being innocent until proven guilty. You seem completely unaware that in the one trial he had in a criminal court of law, Hardy was indeed found guilty beyond any reasonable doubt.

Her account is that he lifted her up and body slammed her and also threw her into the tub. The police didn't find significant injuries,
Uh, yes they did, and those injuries are listed in the police report.
You have her account, his account, his 911 call, and a dismissed trial. There's really no more evidence than there was against Moss, or Edelman for the same thing, or Brady for footballs.
Sorry, but comparing a guy who was found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a criminal court of law to the Brady deflategate fiasco is pure idiocy.

there are plenty of angry idiotic homers at CowboyZone that do. I'll never defend slezeballs like Hardy ever.

The less criticized and more controllable aspect of the moniker Americas Team is the implication it's players are decent like Mom and Apple Pie. So does Hardy fit this image? :p:p:p:p

People are making too much of Hardy this week. Yes, what he said was stupid especially considering what he went through this past year or so, but he is likely to be a non-factor on Sunday. The guy hasn't played football in over a year. He is likely going to spend most of Sunday trying to shake off a lot of rust.

Rob, I agree too much was put into what he said earlier. I find no harm in what he said.

My issue is with this dude being in the league period. Its just wrong. Tells me it's OK for a 6'5 280lbs roided up smuck to beat up girls....As long as you can sack a QB.

Meanwhile, Tom Brady the most hated, despised man in the league. Why? Cuz of air pressure, and hes a pretty boy that wins. Despite the fact the guys never said a wrong or controversial statement, and hes the epitome of what an athlete should be.

CBS NFL today and Fox NFL Sunday grilling Hardy straight off the bat over his comments. Bradshaw even called out Jerry Jones.

First Brady will take care of Hardy and the Cowboys then it's on to the Colts!

"I couldn't disagree more with Greg Hardy's comments, and they do not reflect the values of the league," Anna Isaacson, the NFL's VP of Social Responsibility, told NFL.com. "We are working hard to bring attention to the positive role models many other players represent and also to continue our education with all members of the NFL family."

So, the token woman the NFL installed, forced to respond on domestic violence.

Fans who have followed the league and it's owned media outlets know they are going after women and other non fans to continue gaining market share.

Google feed, VP in charge of social responsibility, Hardy, Ray rice article with picture, Kraft donating to cape cod domestic abuse center.

Not the news salad Goodell wants to see on the day of a late afternoon marquee game. Of course dallas is injured, but image wise it's America's team x2 two and a day of talk about football players beating women is not beneficial.

Damn that clip is amazing.

Powerful words from Bradshaw. I feel conflicted about the NFL's role in player discipline for off the field behavior, but I hate to see a guy like Hardy on the field. We shouldn't be rooting for unapologetic scumbags.

*Before reading this, know that I am not calling Greg guilty or innocent. I wasn't there.*

He was convicted because this literally happens in every court case in NC. An overwhelming amount of trials go exactly like this - offender goes to a trial by judge, get convicted, appeals, requests a jury trial. That's called a trial de novo, or a "new trial". In that instance, the original ruling is invalid. Gone. Done away with.

He was convicted in an invalid trial. It's like it didn't even happen.

In that case, you are innocent until proven guilty by a jury of your peers. Which didn't happen.

Darn those 5th, 6th and 14th amendments, but legally, Greg Hardy is innocent. The charges were dropped.

Again, I'm not saying whether he's guilty or innocent. I just wish people understood that the fact he was convicted is no different than if I was convicted for stealing oreos - this happens in every legal case in NC.

There is absolutely nothing "invalid" about a bench trial. He got to present his defense, and the prosecution has to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

You literally just said "but legally Greg Hardy is innocent" 2 sentences before saying "I'm not saying he's guilty or innocent."

I wish people understood there's no such thing as legally being found innocent. But I guess Ray Rice is innocent too, huh? Heck, so's OJ for that matter (at least as far as the murders are concerned).

The 1 trial he had that went to completion found him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. He got off on appeal when the victim got paid to disappear.

Hardy was validly convicted, only it doesn’t count once he appealed. He was charged with a misdemeanor, not a felony. In NC, the District Court has original jurisdiction over misdemeanor crimes. (The Superior Court has original jurisdiction over more serious felony crimes.) Trial in criminal district court is before a judge without a jury. To protect the constitutional right to a jury trial, if convicted, a defendant has the right to appeal to superior court for a trial de novo before a jury. It is as if the district court trial never happened.

Although Hardy was convicted in district court, it disappeared upon appeal.

Just because the victim disappeared, doesn't make Hardy innocent. All the evidence overwhelmingly points to his guilt, so much so that there is simply no reasonable doubt. In the one trial he had, he was found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. He only got off on appeal after paying the victim to disappear.

He is a POS, a scumbag and a lowlife who beat a woman and threatened to kill her. Getting off on appeal does nothing to change that.

That's great. I lost some respect for Deion Sanders for what he said while doing the Pats/Cowboys highlights, something along the lines of "It's nice to see him get a second chance".

Unbelievable. There's certainly circumstances where people do wrong and deserve second (or even third) chances. Ex. drug addiction, substance abuse, among others. But definitely NOT under Hardy's circumstances.

I suppose you don't understand my point. That's okay.

So do you have any of this overwhelming evidence laying around?

Hardy called the police that night, not his girlfriend. Here's the transcript -

911: Charlotte Mecklenburg 911, this is David. Do you need police, fire or medic? 911, do you need police, fire or medic?

Hardy: (Inaudible.) She’s hit me in the face twice. She won’t get out. We’re trying to get her out of my house. She keeps running back in every time. My neighbor is outside, she’s witnessed everything.

911: What’s the address? Hardy: Somebody please come. 911: Sir?

Hardy: I have a videotape of everything. ... Keep her away from me, please. My assistant is trying to retain her. She’s trying to break free, hit me with her heel. Now I’m literally running around the table right now. She’s trying to hit me with a shoe.

911: What’s your phone number?
Hardy: Ahhh (expletive). She broke some glass.

Man, (expletive). (Expletive)! 911: What is your phone number?

Hardy: She’s trying to hit me with another shoe. I’m behind the bar. I’m not touching her. My manager’s retaining her. She’s still trying to get me.

911: She’s outside of the apartment right now?

Hardy: No, she won’t let me close the door, and I can’t touch her to get her out. She’s literally kicking and scratching but my manager is retaining her. She’s throwing one of her heels right now. She just tried to hit me once. She’s hit me in the face twice. I’m trying to stay away from her. Can you please send somebody to help me? Keep her, bro. Keep her. Don’t let her go. Don’t let her go.

911: Do you need medic?

Hardy: I don’t need a medic. She hit me in the face, I’m fine. I’m not bleeding or anything. It’s a little swollen but I’m fine. ... You shouldn’t have hit me. You shouldn’t have hit me.

...
(background noise) Hardy: Hello?
911: Yes, sir?

Hardy: She refused to leave. She told me to break her arm when I asked her to leave. (background noise)

Hardy: Hello? What, what, what should I do? Should I leave? What should I do? She...

911: Where are you at now?

Hardy: I’m inside the apartment. Trying to get out, she’s literally blocking. She’s at the door, won’t leave. We’ve been trying to get her to leave for an hour. I’ve asked her to leave a thousand times and she hit me in the face twice. I can’t walk through my kitchen, there’s glass. She broke glass.

911: Has there been any drug usage?

Hardy: Yeah I think she’s on coke or something. I don’t know. She’s been drinking. I don’t know what she’s on man.

911: OK. Is it...
Hardy: Like yo, she’s out of it, my man. And

she will not stop coming at me, bro.
911: Were there any other weapons involved?

Hardy: Come again?

911: Any other weapons?

Hardy: There’s no other witnesses.

911: Any other weapons?

Hardy: Ah (expletive), am I bleeding? (Expletive), I’m bleeding, man. (Expletive).

911: Are there any other weapons involved? Hardy: Yes, my manager is standing right here

trying to keep her away from me. 911: No, weapons.

Hardy: No. it’s just me and him here. She came in ...

911: Sir, does she have any other weapons such as a gun or knife?

Hardy: No. She’s swinging her fists and her heels. I have one of her heels now. Her other heel is on the ground. She doesn’t have the heel right now and that’s all she was swinging at me. My manager is trying to detain her. He’s not trying to hurt her or anything, just trying to keep her away from me.

911: Were you trying to leave the property?

Hardy: Come again.

911: You said ...

Hardy: She’s fighting my manager right now trying to ...

911: OK, well, we’ll have a unit out to (redacted).

Hardy: Oh she’s trying to come at me, bro. Don’t let her do it, bro.

911: We have an officer out there to be dispatched. OK?

Hardy: Thank you. Please, please hurry.
