Colts Coach Chuck Pagano ‘Supremely confident’ about Week 6 Matchup with Patriots

Seriously though, even if the Colts slip a few heavy handfuls of Irsay's finest into the Gatorade, they still lose by at least three scores. What a damn fool.

I'm expecting more of an aerial attack. The Colts pass defense has been worse this year than their run defense and Hoyer just ripped them with, basically, one WR.

Will be very interesting to see, actually. Their run D does seem much improved over last season.

Hit them with both. This is the game to do that. Gouge them with the run then let Brady and Gronk loose once they begin to load the box.

Their run D seemed improved last year too leading up to the AFCCG. They were doing fine against other teams until they played us.

Just outside of the top 10 in both ypc and DVOA, though it should be noted that they played a marginal slate and weren't terrible against non-Patriot teams last year either. Remember all the rhetoric about how the Colts had shored up the leaks heading into the AFCCG?

I think our secondary will be severely tested. Might be the first game revis , arrington losses might be visible. The short season span we have seen has been very similar to the 2011 secondary. Frustrating giving up 3rd downs but somehow getting stops. Our offense has helped our our defense a lot putting pressure on the other team but this could become shootout . I think its going to be a close. Winning on the road is hard and I hope we just win this game regardless of the score.

Once they were destined to come to foxboro they knew they were doomed.

I don't think it is even close. This defense is better across the board and most of the ugly plays have come long after the game was decided.

I'm surpremely confident that Blount is going to eclipse 100 yards rushing and 2 TD's by the start of the third quarter.
I think the colts will sell out to stop the run. Pats might outhink/overthink and go a lot of passing early. Wont be surprised to see "why are not running?" laments in the game thread early on.

As supremely confident as he was for the last four?

I expected that going into the second, third, and fourth games where we killed them by running all over them. I think the Pats' MO here is to just run until they prove they can stop it.

It's more probable than not that Chuck Pagano is generally aware that his Colts will get blown out on Sunday October 18, 2015.

In this particular case, Chuck, it is extremely personal. Your owner is a douche. Your GM started Deflategate, and your team sucks.

I think I speak for just about everyone here when I say that we're not all that impressed that your team beat the Houston Texans quarterbacked by Ryan Mallett and Brian Hoyer. We love those guys as backups, but...

But you know what? The way your team tackles, the Patriots could beat the crap out of your team with either of those guys at the controls. Do the names Jonas Gray and LeGarrette Blount ring a bell?

So, Chuck, have a nice ten day break being supremely confident. Your ass is ours on October 18th.

Maybe its better. I personally dont think the defensive backfield is as good. Arrington completely took out hilton last yr . Right now our CBS are raw or unreliable e.g Logan Ryan. Our secondary is going to get hit in this game.

Better than 2011 or last year? Of course the DBs were better last year, but that isn't what was being discussed earlier.

Remind yourself that overconfidence is a slow and Insidious killer.

Maybe he is basing this on the atrociously one-sided officiating of last night?

I agree, this was also evident in the Broncos game against min you! Calls just seem to be really one sided as well as extremely timely. They even picked up the block in the back flag after the interception, the Colts would have taken over at around the 7 yard line. Deandre Hopkins push off was no more agreegious than Tilton's at the end or Johnson's earlier. In the Broncos game they called a facemask penalty against Wallace for a stiff arm (not often called) after the defender clearly twisted his mask first.

Can you imagine the furious uproar that would result if Bill Belichick ever said that he was "supremely confident" that his team would beat an upcoming opponent?

He would get SLAMMED and be called an arrogant jerk.

Pagano, though?

Crickets chirp.

Pagano is right about one thing: never count out #12. He was thinking of the wrong #12, though!

There pass rush is no existent. Hoyer had all day and was carving them up. I cannot see how they stop Brady.
