I think it'll be a lot closer than people are saying. The Pats always seem to play down to the level of their competition (no offense to Cowboy's fans, but no Romo/Bryant hurts their chances). Also, the Pats ALWAYS seem to start very slow coming out of bye weeks. You always think they would come out like bats out of hell with 2 weeks to prepare, but it always seems to be the opposite.

The new rules about contact in practice have, I think, really stung the teams on the bye week. I'd be curious to see statistics on that, but it's been my observation, at least.

Which of the three blowouts this season leads you to believe this?

Thought that was interesting, so took a quick look over the past ten seasons to see if it was true. Didn't want to take the time to look at 1st Q or 1st half scores, so just looked at finals.

The Pats won by 22 coming out of the bye last year, but in the four seasons prior to that, you seem to have a point: they lost in 2013 (the only time they lost after the bye in the 10-year period) and won the 3 years before that by 6, 8 and 3 points.

From 2005 to 2009, the victories were more decisive, and overall in the 10-year period the Pats won coming out of the bye by 13 points.

For what it's worth, since there have been a lot of parallels drawn between this season and 2007, in the game after the bye that season the Pats beat the Bills by 46.

Actually I'm talking about below average teams or teams that are below average due to injury. I remember close calls with teams like Cleveland, and last year's Jet's games, etc. You may be right though, this might be the type of team that wins every game by 7 or more points (one win by 7, one by 8 and one by 34 so far).

Couple thoughts...

1. It's crazy to me that these teams have only played against each other 11 times EVER.

2. I was at the 2007 and 2011 games. At the latter Some murderer caught the game winning TD for the pats IIRC. Pats had no business winning that game.

Pats have blown out more teams than any other in recent memory. Every team has close games, but I think the difference between the top and bottom teams is a lot less than what most people think. It's hard to win in the NFL.

Perhaps I have been a Red Sox Fan for too long, but "on any given Sunday".. that is why I stay home with my wife and watch the game, free from distractions...

Dallas is running a Tampa 2 defense Brady will shreD them. Perhaps the first 50 spot of the season. Especially with their idiot owner pouring gas on the fire.

Am I the only one who hates it when everyone procaims that the Pats can't be beaten? I know they don't listen to the noise, but it never hurts to have someone telling you you suck.

A little bit of history

First game at Texas Stadium was against the Pats

Too bad Jerruh was not in it when they blew it up

I miss semi-retired sports writer Randy Galloway for his near-comical Texas drawl and names he gives every one.

Does not care for statistics- "WATCH THE DAMN GAME"

"IT'S ALL ABOUT THE QUARTERBACK!!!"

Which QB does he like? "TOM FREAKING BRADY"

His nickname for Jerrah's ("Boss Hog"- U of Arkansas Razorback) pet coach - "Red Jesus"

"Grassy Knoll" - Conspiracy theory. Like DeflateGate.

"The White God" - Goddell

"The Zeros", because the Sooners look like their helmet has a 0U on it. They lost to Texas of all things.

"Nine toed" - Deon Sanders

"Boss Hog"- Jerry Jones

''Gunsmoke" - after Barry Switzer was caught attempting to take a .45 on a game flight. Figures from the former coach of Zero U.

"Text toy" - Blackberry
