colts fans may be not so optimistic but I see a close game. They also are circling this game since jan and will play with a lot of emotion pride. Pats need to weather the storm and hope our secondary doesnt give up frustrating big plays.

What in the last 4 games against this team gives you any indication that it will be close?

The 59-24 Pats win in '12?
The 43-22 Pats win in the Divisional '13 playoff game?
The 42-20 Pats win where a guy the Pats cut ran for 200 yards and 4 TD?
The 45-7 Pats win where Luck had arguably the worst playoff game by QB in decades?

They could have circled this game a million times since Jan, isn't going to help them during the game.

Weather the storm? What storm is this colts team going to bring? Got punched in the mouth by the bills and jets and have eeked out wins against the titans, jags and texans.

Can anyone tell me why RAC has the Texans trying to two gap? Seems as if they're trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. It also takes away from what Watt does best (although it's great for Wilfork and would be good for the defense as a whole if they had the LB's to pull it off).

RAC just hasn't been the same since leaving BB. ;)

Those texans LBS are horrible.

I can't help but think that, after Nantz and Simms finished their gorgeous spin job wrapping up this game and the mics went off, one turned to the other and said, "what a **** show that was."

Bill O Brien is a bad coach, bad, bad bad.

He created an atmosphere where the QB's are going to play to not get benched instead of playing for win. Huge pressure, it's bad for the QB's, it's bad for the Oline, it's bad for the whole team this instability in the QB position.

Damn, these guys don't learn a thing from BB, at this point I think Patricia is the guy with most chances to succeed between all these guys that worked as coaches or coordinators under BB.

He has been absolutely horrendous with the QB decision since the beginning. Made the decision before he should which was him clearly cracking under pressure of media and ownership. Then when he made the decision he did it poorly when he told Hoyer he was on a short leash. Let Mallett pull his baby act without repercussion. Now has played QB musical chairs though 5 games, instead of just sticking with one guy.

O'Brien vastly overrated because of 4 things

-Tom Brady
-Bill Belichick
-The incident where he was a lunatic and tried to have a guy at Brady
-Penn State. Lot of coaches could have went in there and did what he did

Poor Hoyer. Good game overall but had to throw the best Punt of the game in the last couple minutes.

As for Mallett, no one wants to be replaced during a game but if he wants to be a real leader, he's got to learn not to look like he's sulking in the sidelines. He's telling everyone he's in "I" mode instead of team first.

He looked like a complete jack ass on the sideline.

What I expect:

A steaming heap of penalties, turnovers, penalties, mental errors, penalties, coaching gaffes, penalties, special teams miscues, penalties, generally sloppy and indifferent play, penalties, bad calls by officials, penalties, abhorrent fan behavior, insipid play-by-play and color commentary, penalties, a veritable tsunami of DFS commercials, and penalties.

What I'm hoping for:

Cheerleader wardrobe malfunctions, action shots of drug abuse in the owner's box, an outrageous blown call in the last minute of play to change the outcome of the game and, most of all, for the commissioner to be dropped out of a helicopter on live TV without a parachute at halftime..

That's why we watch.

Looks like I got most of what I expected and none of what I had hoped for. Damn.

I'm sorry but I'm sympathetic to Mallet, I know he didn't have the best of the attitudes yesterday but rightfully so (ehh kind of, you don't let your teammates down but BoB has more fault than anyone over this) , BoB couldn't do any worse and he created a situation where 2 guys who were friends before may not even be talking to each other.

The team has paid a price for this musical chairs at QB and that's not good for any QB, BoB is not developing Mallet who is still a young QB with some potential and Hoyer is a veteran that can be a little more than a game manager but needs the confidence that he is the starter, or was, whatever. He didn't have this confidence in Cleveland where he knew he was going to lose that job at any minute due to the pressure from the owners to the head coach to start Johnny Booziel and now things are even worse in Houston. I think Mallet may be mentally crushed right now and that's on BoB. The NFL is a business but you need to develop your players not putting them in position to fail, not even Rex Ryan could do worse than BoB, man I'm feeling bad and I have no special sympathy for the Texans but I was kind of rooting for them due to all these NE connections, I knew they wouldn't present any threat to the Patriots.

The Colts have had this game circled since the day after the AFCCG? The Colts are going to be playing with a lot of emotion and pride?

The Pats had to listen to eight months of "cheaterz!" thanks to the whiny Colts. That under-sized defense is going to get curb-stomped. Our defense might get 10 sacks. The Pats are going to come in like a hurricane. You want to talk about pride? A championship team had their accomplishments crapped on for most of the year thanks to this very opponent. There will be blood. If the Pats score less than 50 points I will be shocked.

the patriots will be business like during the lead up, but they wont start showing emotion til their foot is on the throat of the colts.

I'm hoping Brady throws 8 tds I want something insane.
Don't forget Dion Lewis was cut by the Colts he will play with a chip on his shoulder the size of a boulder.
Brady I doubt he smiles once during the game and I don't want to see any good luck and Good game crap afterwards or during play.
I want stone cold emotion I want the team to operate like a machine.
Screw running the ball I want Brady to set records and I want Luck to throw 6 ints.

I expect it to be another sack-fest for the D.

Oh please. Your response is exactly what's wrong with athletes today. Look at Ellsbury in NY. Benched for a play and you're in game. With 5 years left on a 7 year deal @ 20 million plus per year.

To call it petty is ridiculous. For his mental well being as well as status within the game, taking that 9 million was idiotic.

Get out of there yourself with your apparent inability to process that an athletes vanity at times leads to bad decisions.

Wilfork is the anti-Brady. If more athletes were like him, sports would be a much different landscape.

Wilfork also had to play out his rookie contract despite extension talks. The hardball approach from the pats early in his career led to his hard stance regarding his compensation later in his career. Can you blame the guy? Probably the last year, maybe two of his career. There is no way the Patriots are throwing even 6 mil at him, that extra 3 million isn't chump change, especially on what is possibly his last year (or close to it) in the league. Sure he would have more endorsement value back here, but he also doesn't have the state income tax to deal with for atleast 1/2 his games.

While he is an anti-Brady contractually, I think it's easy to see where and how his thought process was molded.

I love the comments so far:

I predict 600 yards of offense for NE

We're going to get destroyed.

We're gonna get crushed

Brian Hoyer had like 5 mins to throw the damn ball. I'm terrified to see what Brady is gonna do to our D...

I honestly expect Brady to embarrass our defense next week

Im nervous. Our secondary sucked tonight
I like this, I like this A LOT

I agree with you in that Bob has mishandled the QB situation but Mallet pouted like a 3 year old on the sideline during a primetime game and the cameras enjoyed letting everyone else witness it. Additionally, IIRC, Mallet ran into the locker room right after the hail mary TD which did not look good at all on his part.

I never thought he was that good of an OC, he was overly dependent on TB to carry the team.

Who says the Patriots didn't just allow Vince to move on with his career he got stonewalled yesterday by the Colts.
Having SilIga and Branch was absolutely the right call.
Throw in Brown Easley Hicks thanks for the memories Vince.

Still wondering why the Pats only ran it 17 times in SB46.

The first play call was already awful, I was expecting that play action and so were the Giants.
