Kirwin says in certain situations BB put C Jones on the nose with SHeard and Ninko as the ends. Then Collins lines up next to Jones. They then slide to the right and the o line can't adjust in time. Collins is to athletic for the center or guard to handle.

Here is a link to a 2+ podcast on the 4 man rush.

Real Football network is Kirwan's website. The site is must visit if you are interested in X & O's as opposed to the tripe on ESPN or most NFL net programming.
Thank you, this was outstanding and a must read for any football fan.

When you finally get what they are doing on this rush, you can see how brilliant it is. He shows you how the Pats get the better of 6 man protection with a 4 man rush. When you think about it it was almost the same thing they did with the Bills pass rush. They literally beat the Bills pass rush with formation.

Here they do almost the same thing on D. They get an advantage by confusing the Bills OL with their own protection rules. Very cool. Pat does a good job at breaking it down in under 5 minutes. The only negative is that once again, Matt Patricia gets ignored

This site IMO is a goldmine for football fans tomorrow he will have a vid on the Pats Cowboys matchup.

I just got his "take your eye off the ball" Book and CD. Highly recommend this for anyone who has a novice understanding of the game such as myself.

Anyways A+ stuff.

Note the decision to double team Sheard and the dilemma of then dealing with Jones on the nose, Collins has the speed to allow this to work.

Sherrod is a Tackle on the Packers. You mean Sheard.

I heard him on another podcast I subscribe to, and agree he's great.

Does he offer a traditional RSS feed to download content from?

I looked and could not find one.

Great stuff. Always liked Kirwan, he's pure football and no BS.

Thanks to reflex for bringing this to our attention.

Does the NFL competition committee know about this??

Interesting aside about the NFL competition Committee.. Roger and his merry band of marionettes..

http://operations.nfl.com/football-ops/league-governance/the-nfl-competition-committee/

The NFL commissioner selects the members of the Competition Committee, which currently consists of two owners, two club presidents, two general managers and three head coaches:

  • Rich McKay (chairman) – president, Atlanta Falcons

  • Mark Murphy – president, Green Bay Packers
  • Ozzie Newsome – general manager, Baltimore Ravens
  • Rick Smith – general manager, Houston Texans
