Official "Houston blows it against Indy" game thread

In keeping with my "the Patriots are the only thing that matters" mantra, I have eliminated the Thursday night and Monday night games from my life unless the Pats are playing. The fewer evenings that are dominated by the NFL for me, the better. And this game is going to be awful.

That Commissioner is doing a bang-up job! The game keeps getting better!

Which kind of reminds me how funny it is when people say the Pats have been beneficiaries of a ****ty division for the past decade and a half. They have an almost identical (if not better) win percentage outside of the AFC East as they do against it. Without running off to check the numbers I'd bet there is a huge disparity between the Colts vs the AFC South and the Colts vs everyone else. That's a beneficiary of a weak division.

Eh, the Pats play in a ****ty division, there's no doubt about, these teams can't do it right, even the Jest that are doing good, it's only a matter of time until they blow off again. The Bills are the Bills and Miami that seemed to be in the right path, is now in the bottom 3 of the league. That said the AFC South is worse and it's been for years, that's probably the worst division in the NFL, both Souths, AFC and NFC.

I just don't think that matters and I don't think the Pats benefit from that, they would sweep other teams just like they do with the current AFC East teams.

Precisely my point. And for what it's worth, the AFC East hasn't even been that bad most of this time. Just pretty average, which, when going up against NE, won't cut it 95% of the time

So has Jadeveon Clowney still not produced?

Man, that is not looking good. He better pick it up or he'll be one of the biggest draft busts of all time.

What I expect:

A steaming heap of penalties, turnovers, penalties, mental errors, penalties, coaching gaffes, penalties, special teams miscues, penalties, generally sloppy and indifferent play, penalties, bad calls by officials, penalties, abhorrent fan behavior, insipid play-by-play and color commentary, penalties, a veritable tsunami of DFS commercials, and penalties.

What I'm hoping for:

Cheerleader wardrobe malfunctions, action shots of drug abuse in the owner's box, an outrageous blown call in the last minute of play to change the outcome of the game and, most of all, for the commissioner to be dropped out of a helicopter on live TV without a parachute at halftime..

That's why we watch.

Just goes to show even the "can't miss, sure thing" prospects bust too.

Can anyone understand why the Texans are so bad? They seem to have decent coaching and player leadership, at least on defense. And the talent seems to be there too.

QB play

Hoyer had a lousy game one, and Mallet is ....

Mallet.

Exactly, I'll wait until the end of this game to open a thread about the BFL, Bad Football League.
Bad football, bad primetime schedule, bad coaching, bad officiating, way to go Goodell, what an awesome season you're putting in display.

Same reasons other teams struggle: weakness at the quarterback position.

I'd rather watch the Bruins play

It's not just the QB in Houston, they've allowed the 6th most point too.

Belichick really hurt them taking JG in the second round, given their QB situation and our draft pick situation, I wonder if JG may be traded there this offseason (with Hoyer as a small part of the trade).

IDK about you but i could watch that for 3 hours ;)

Crack open a bottle of liquor and laugh.

Recently I imagined a torture device that involved RG, a toilet and looped video of the Buttfumble... Toilet based torture devices are fun :D

Well, it is an AFC South game so the Colts will win. The Colts can walk all over their division, but struggle outside the division.

This thread title is perfect. Exactly how I feel about this game.

As I wrote before, they will win that division with a 6-10 record. And all 6 of those wins will probably be against their division teams.

Pathetic.

Read a couple of weeks ago that RBs average around 2 YPC when running at him...so at the very least he's solid against the run.

FYI, Hoyer is under contract for 2016 at a salary of $5.25 million.

An endless looping vine of a camera inside a toilet bowl recording a pimply ass spraying diarrhea water out would be more entertaining than this game.

It's a tough call for BoB, I think it's clear he shouldn't have panicked and promoted Mallet to starter after 1 game but I understand the decision to go with Mallet in a short week, while Hoyer gets more prepared instead of burnt again in case he goes bad. At the same time if Mallet shred the Colts defense into pieces then that's also something good, but the chances are small and going 1-4 is game over, so it's a tough call.

Well he shouldn't have started this musical chairs at the QB position so that's on him.
