How come we can't draft wide receivers like this?

Old friend Brandon Tate made a great catch and smart play to burn the hated Chiefs on Sunday. Good work, Brandon!

It's right twice a day...

Good for you Brandon. It's a tough game and few can be consistently successful [a lot of times it's just getting time to gel with QB].

I never begrudge players who couldn't make it because they do well, i applaud them. Our judgment has been pretty good, but the amount of players we let go means some will succeed.

Not much of a career so far, but he's stayed in the league.

either the WR/TE has chemistry with brady quickly or he doesn't...
for whatever reason many fail miserably.
It's not a matter of "developing chemistry"; it's a matter of learning and executing the offensive system. They look similar to our eyes, but I think they're quite different.

Made a nice diving catch like that from Hoyer in garbage time week 17 2010. Nice run after the catch on a broken play against Minn. Nice sideline TD vs the Jets in the 45-3 win. That's pretty much his career offensive highlight package in New England. I hated that draft choice and I never liked him here, but good for him carving out a long career as a ST/backup player. Not a bad way to make a living.

Honestly I think the lack of wr through the draft has more to do with the offensive system then anything else. It takes a special dedication to learn everything and run routes precisely and unfortunately a lot of wr want to rely on little studying and their athletic ability.

I agree with this, which makes it baffling to me that BB opts for raw prospects from unsophisticated college passing attacks. Maybe he feels like the guys with athletic ability and NFL readiness are off the board before the late second or third round, so he'd rather take on a project with upside than a technician with a low ceiling. IDK.

He would have stayed if he hadn't dropped off so much on kickoffs. He started out like gangbusters then wilted as the season went on. Clearly he didn't develop as a receiver so they sent him packing.

Maybe it's like the Marines, right? They want recruits who have never shot a gun before.

That's one heck of a throw by dalton. Too bad his mental side isn't as good as his physical side.

I think Brady relies on receivers to know the adjustments necessary for post snap reads whereas Dalton is more of a Scramble and chuck it up type guy. Dalton does make timing throws as well but most of the highlights I see for big plays are from the chuck it up throws.

He is a Decent QB with a big arm and scramble ability but he will continue to wear the "choke on the big stage" badge until he finally gets them through a big game.

Why are the Chiefs "hated"?

I hate the Jesters, Doofins, Murderer-Worshippers, Stealers, Clots, Donkeys & vaGiants…

…but the Chiefs? Not even close.
