Goodell back at it talking integrity

Asked whether the results of the psi readings from future games will be released:

So that answers that - The only reason they will check the psi is not to see if balls decreased (or increased) in pressure, but rather to keep them in the legal limit. I can almost envision the refs checking readings and 'fixing' the footballs every commercial break so as to show that footballs never deflated after a half or a full game.

I see no way they will release the psi readings UNLESS those readings support that Brady deflated footballs.

That's why they set up the testing procedures the way they did. Bring the footballs back into the locker room and replace them with the backup footballs? Why? Because they want the footballs to re acclimate to their original temperature so that no pressure variation will be shown. And of course, it will behind closed doors. Nothing better than having transparency ........

Kraft or fans or someone needs to have a football at each game with a visible read out of a football that was inflated in a 70 degree environment. Let that football remain visible in a locked plexiglass box. Hopefully the cameras will pick it up and as the game rolls along and the temperatures drop people who have 0 clue about the IGL will see first hand that pressure in a football will drop with temperature change. If that ended up on TV it would put additional pressure on Roger Goodell.

Just one minor modification. Use some sort of chicken wire cage to allow free flow of air and precipitation around the ball.

Gotta say I'm at the point where while I wouldn't assault Goodell myself, if I ran across someone beating the everloving crap out of Goodell I sure as hell wouldn't do anything to stop it.

Or perhaps more concisely, "I wouldn't piss on him if he were on fire."

And if I ever were to win Powerball (kinda hard when I don't play :)) I would pay for a 24x7 tail to be put on him for the rest of his life and publicize any dirt found.

I stand by what I've said before -- that kind of thing should be done at several local high schools, perhaps winding up as a science class or science fair project. I'd do it myself if I had either a student-parent or coaching relationship with a high school, but I have neither.

Anyhow -- Goodell's best approach, personally, would be to let the whole scandal just peter out, so that nobody ever bothers punishing him too severely for his errors. In that context, the appeal of Berman's decision is a mistake, which will reopen the wound early next year.

Interesting scene at owners meetings: Roger Goodell & Jonathan Kraft of Pats having cordial convo. Kraft pats RG on back after it ends.

WTH is wrong with BK? Why does he keep being so damn nice to the guy that's ruined the reputation of his team and his HOF Coach/QB over tiddly ****? I honestly don't get it, it can't be that he's trying 'keeping your enemies close', makes no sense in my mind. I honestly feel he thinks Goodell is the victim.

So basically regarding the 3rd independent part that works perfectly fine for MLB.

We don't want others telling us what to do. We don't want to share. We will uphold are own rules and persecute whoever we want. We like scandals during the offseason to keep us relevant during others sports seasons.

"They’re [the rules are] to be applied evenly"

Except when it's the Jets tampering with footballs or filming signals or tampering or whatever. Or when it's the Panthers tampering with footballs on camera. Or Ray Rice's punishment before the elevator tape was released vs. after. Goodell makes his decisions based on public opinion and what owners he favors (or vice versa.)

One of the reasons the league lost the Brady hearing was because, as arbitrator, Goodell was supposed to be fair and impartial. He failed at that, so apparently, he didn't feel those rules applied to him.

Reread the tweet.

Did you /ever/ think they we're going to publish readings that contradict their chosen scenario? There we're only ever two possible outcomes: either we'd hear nothing, or they would fabricate the reading that suit their agenda.

It would put this to rest for good, although I would expect some margin of error on the readings, given that during the course of a rigorous football game with Gronk spikes and 300+ lb lineman landing on the ball, it might lose a little bit more air

I'm pretty sure the NFL* will not be the only people testing footballs this winter. If the League* thinks they're going to get away with self serving results, they won't....but they are just arrogant enough to try. I just hope the independents leak their results before BSPN tries to poison public opinion.

Of course he has no regrets. In order to have regrets, one would have to be capable of honesty, critical thought, introspection, and most importantly of all (ironically) integrity. Goodell does not possess any of these qualities/capabilities to even the slighted degree.

When asked a question like "will future readings be released", a non-answer can only mean two things:
  1. No.
  2. Maybe, but only if it suits our narrative to release them.

Regardless of how he feels about the whole deflating of footballs, the fact that there is no regret that a minor infraction, that more likely than not didn't happen, turned into a huge scandal is one of the most pathetic things in the history of the NFL. All because of him.

The fact that he has no regrets just proves he is an insane person.
