No, the Pats lost. Remember the controversial last play where Gronk didn't get the P.I. in the endzone that we all thought was warranted?

Ok, NFL Network got me all mixed up. I thought he had come from Carolina but then a graphic they showed last night made it seem like he had been with Dallas for over five years so I figured I might have had him mixed up with someone else.

He DID come from Carolina.

And the Patriots DID lose that night with the controversial Gronk play/supposed to be PI on Kuechly.

That was the "Ice Up Son" game between Steve Smith Sr. and Talib.

Yes, four other people already straightened me out!

not false. im talking about his whole career. not one season

Here are Romos ints for the last 6 years.

9 ints in 2014
10 ints in 2013
19 ints in 2012
10 ints in 2011
injured 2010
9 ints in 2009

You do realize that the last 2 seasons are Brady like int numbers? Romo has improved as of late.

Any given Sunday.

Remember the Raider game in Foxboro last year? Pats still won the Super Bowl, right?

Don't discount the Broncos solely on the Ravens and Vikings games.
Raiders was one of the first games played last year. So tehnically it was preseason game, I was impresed with Derek Carr who wasnt afraid throwing on Revis coverage. I am really impresed with him.

As for Denver. If pats stay healty, Denvers offense will score TD for us.

It was the Patriots' 3rd game of the season last year..

Denver played the Ravens in their 1st game this year and then the Vikings in their 4th game.

I'm trying very hard to understand the point you are making.

An elite QB. Probably the best in the NFL.

Right now, Brady and Rodgers are the best in the league. You can't go wrong with either. Manning, Romo and Brees are the other elites right now.

I like Andrew Luck, but I disagree with the people calling him elite. He will be one day but he isn't at this point. Neither is Wilson.

There seems to be a lot of back and forth today about who the elite quarterbacks are in the NFL.

Im sorry but Romo is not elite, nor is Brady. They're not even in the top 7.

I know this because I saw a picture of the 2015 elite quarterbacks on the NFL's official Twitter website just before this season started. Brady and Romo are not on it.

Here it is, in case you missed it. It shows which quarterbacks can play in Super Bowl L. It even lets you choose the two QB's who will actually play in the game!!!

What !? No Flacco?

Has he been practicing? Under the NFL Concussion Protocol you have to return to baseline status (i.e., same mental status as you were prior to concussion) before you can even practice.

The reports of Sean Lee playing this week make me queasy. He just sustained his third reported brain injury. If he were part of my team -- let alone my family -- I'd want him to take more time before tackling anybody.

Agree. Makes me wonder about the thought process in Dallas.

I wonder how many of those were thrown in the 4th quarter with the game on the line . not to mention the times he's fumbled in crucial moments of the game. I could do some research on it but I just dont care enough. I've already wasted enough time talking about the freaking cowboys. you win he's just as good as Brady.

Losing Dez is very over rated, just like the loss of ANY WR would be be.

I would agree.... if the Boys hadn't also lost their QB as well. A dominant WR is very helpful when trying to cobble a passing game together around Weeden.

Manning, Romo and Brees are the other elites right now.

Not to join in the largely useless "elite" commentary, but Manning is not the same QB he was just last year. He's 25th in passer rating and 31st in DVOA, and that's with the benefit of numerous dropped picks and incredible wide receiver plays. The only metric that he's even passable is ESPN's QBR, and that seems to be because the stat was essentially created with him as the baseline for good.

For reference, as ineffective as the Saints' passing has been, Brees is 16th in DVOA and 17th in PR. And he doesn't have nearly the arsenal around him that Manning has.

Maybe we can get back to football and end this "elite" conversation - it's like politics or gun control - you can make all the good arguments you like, but you'll never convince anyone who disagrees with you.

So here's my football question:

I read that the Cowboy linebackers are fast but somewhat undersized. Belichick is all about match-ups, and so I wonder if we might be heading for a hefty dose of Blount and heavy tight-end packages alternating with play-action to attack what appears to be a modest group of back-end players.

Thoughts?

I agree with your first statement. When you get a good troll, bickering over meaningless ******** like where the arbitrary "elite" line should be drawn seems like a colossal waste of time.

The problem for Dallas is that their defense appears to be middling across the board. Even if their LBs can be pushed around a little, the injuries in the secondary have created room there as well. There's always a chance that getting a few guys off suspension changes things, or perhaps there is some skill a few guys possess that creates a unique problem for the Patriots, but the raw numbers indicate that NE should be able to do whatever they want on Sunday.

Romo is playing solid QB football in the past 2 seasons, coincidentally when they started to improve the O-line but yes he has a lot of chokes in his resume. Some people insist that he is clutch, no, just no.

Didn't practice today.

But the Concussion Protocol is different from other injuries - you don't get to even practice until you are 100%. So I don't think you can be "limited" in practice with a concussion - I believe you can have one day of "no contact" practice before you are cleared for full participation.

Not sure I know of examples where a player was concussed and then played a week later. Anyone?

RGIII came back to practice very quickly (a few days) and then promptly got pulled again:

Here's an example of a player not missing a game, although in this case there was a 11-day interval:

I'm not looking up statistics from farther back, but last year when trailing in the 4th quarter Tony threw 10 TDs and zero INTs.

Yep. As the o-line improved he also had an outstanding running game to lean on.

I'll need to dig into it more but Demarco Murray's deal with Philly is basically a 2 yr deal. I thought his ability really helped take the pressure off Romo.
