1. There's some kind of scandal going on. I'll leave a more coherent explanation to those who actually have used the services/sites.

2. Along the way, it's being mentioned that these companies have lots of relevant investors -- leagues, team owners and so on. In particular, I didn't know that Robert Kraft and Jerry Jones have stakes in DraftKings.

its one guy using one sites data to play the other site. Nothing to see here.. Lame post

These sites are taking money from local bookies. Methinks that the "boys" are not happy about this. It's never a good idea to make the "boys" unhappy.

The United States made online gambling like poker illegal a few years back. This is where they all went because fantasy sports work a loop hole in gambling laws.

Fencer its exaclty what i said it was that you disliked. Its one employee. Who cares, it has nothing to do with jerry jones or robert kraft. Your post is ridiculous. Even if he is using data to pick players that are under valued he still has a 1000 players to chose from and they still need to perform. What he did is illegal but your orginal post made it seem like nfl owners were in on it. Lame post.

I assumed that people here are too intelligent to think that the bolded part is what I was suggesting. Do you think we have posters here stupid enough to read my post that way? Wow. Your faith in humanity must be pretty low.

2. You mention team owners as investors.. You say i didnt know that robert kraft and jerry jones were among them.. You posted this info on a patriots fan forum. How on earth is anyone suppose to take this? If we are not suppose to take it as a "scandal" as you put it, Involving a site that has nfl owners as investors, but you never knew or are not sure if jerry jones and robert kraft are invloved with that site than why not just say what really happened? One dude used info on draft kings to bet on fanduel. Fencer thats what happened. So you can imply that im dumb all you want but you are the one making a mountain out of a mole hill.

I don't know, but my freaking wife has picked up a habit with these sites. You have to beat out hundreds of other players, sometimes thousands, to win much of anything.

I'd be interested in seeing just how many here have actually made any money, but it seems to have low odds of success in my opinion.

Naturally, only the "I won a trillion dollars" boobs will be pushed to the front of sites like these. You'll never hear the sordid stories of the sad-sack suckers who lost everything in their mad gambling addiction.

You have to be a fool to not see the amount of money being generated by these fantasy sites. The NFL has always kept a distance between itself and gambling but they've fully embraced DraftKings and FanDuel. I won't be one bit surprised when it all ends up in tears.

Something reeks of these gambling sites, something beyond the obvious. Wouldn't be shocked if they front for organized crime.

During the initial on line poker craze, it was discovered that some people had either access to the codes or hacked them and were able to see everyone's hole cards ( which makes the game really easy to win). I wouldn't trust any of these gambling/fantasy sites, because as with any computer program, the data is there to be breeched, you just have to figure a way to get to it.

The real problem here is for the NFL* and its sponsors. I see Draftkings and FanDuel signage in almost every stadium and with BSPN and the commercials are endless. if it turns out that the NFL* was sending its fans to sites where they were being cheated, then it may be time to concoct another fake "Patriots cheated" scandal to move the birdy.

I've made some decent money on Draftkings.

The original post may have been excessively vague and alarming, but it's NOT just one employee:

A spokesman for DraftKings acknowledged that employees of both companies had won big jackpots playing at other daily fantasy sites. Late Monday, the two companies temporarily barred their employees from playing games or taking part in tournaments at any other site

IOW, these sites didn't control access to insider data that would provide a huge advantage in betting, and had no rules barring employees from using that inside info to clean up at competing sites. So those employees logically went and did so. That means that anybody who's been putting up money at these sites has been giving an extra slice of it away to company employees gaming the system for personal profit.

In other news...gambling is a good way to lose money.

It's not exactly just one employee. According to the article, several employees are doing the same thing. This guy was just stupid enough to compound his $350k winnings with accidentally posting inside data.

I do not believe it is illegal what he did, at least not in the criminal sense - though I would not be surprised to see some lawsuits.

For a league that opposes legalized sports gambling as much as possible and does everything they can do to prevent those laws from changing, they sure seem awfully chummy with the DFS which, IMHO, sure do toe the line awfully close to gambling.

I wish I had some investors to start my own DFS, only instead of drafting players you draft every single player on a whole team. You get points for touchdowns and field goals (etc) and nothing else. If that team wins, you win.... but to make things fair, I will include something called a point spread - uh, I mean, an "adjustment factor" - whereby you have to win by a certain amount if you take a big favorite.
