Is it me, or is Ray Lewis completely losing his ability to communicate in a remotely meaningful manner ever since the concept that 'illegal batting' was brought up tonight?

When did he have the ability?

Lions got shafted by the refs, but their offense didn't bring their best until that final drive, and fumbled at the worst time.

Where's Goodelldo?

the rotten scumbag better come out of hiding and say something about THIS travesty.

Pete Carrol just said that the Lions could've challenged the bat play?

when the refs when to review...why didnt someone tell them about this?

its ok, since the seahawks are officially repeat monday night fluke offenders perhaps there will be a multi-million dollar investigation and heavy fines levied against them for potentially bribing the refs, right?

Or is that only what happens when its us?

Dean Blandino and the rest of the league officials in NYC were too busy having those in Seattle check the air pressure in all of the game footballs with multiple gauges.

You know, integrity and all.

"See there further proof the refs are in Bob Kraft's back pocket." Signed Jets fans everywhere.

imagine if the pats got the benefit of this call

we'd lose all of our draft picks.
blandino on NFLN explaining everything admitting they were wrong.

goodell's too busy looking at psi numbers wondering they lower during games.

The word "overt" is not in the rules. OTOH, it was overt. Everyone saw it. But not reviewable.
However, it would have been a chicken **** way for Detroit to win. The ball was headed out anyway.

This is gonna be a HUGE topic of conversation tomorrow

Wow! The NFL will go to ridiculous lengths to never admit they are wrong. If this is the case, my judgement call is an absolute moron.

Wow. Aside from the blown call, I've always HATED the touchback rule where a team (ex. Seattle) is given possession of the football after the offense (ex. Detroit) fumbles out the back of the end-zone. Sure it's a nice play to force the fumble, but if the team never actually gains possession - why give it to them?

Especially since if that fumble occurs anywhere else on the field and it goes out of bounds on the SIDELINE, the offense still gets to keep the ball. (as they should)

covering their butt now...

Terrible rule.

What the NFL is saying is if the defensive player pretends to attempt to recover the ball and it goes out of the end zone then that is okay, his team wins; but if he is truthful with his actions and makes a heads-up play by having situational awareness and bats it out, then that is a game-changing penalty that hypothetically costs his team the game?

Does that make any sense at all?
