He said it was Haden's decision not to play with bruised ribs and a broken finger. No coach should throw his guy under the bus like that! He'll even if it's true, just say it was a "medical decision" which is vague enough. I can't even imagine how pissed Haden must be. LOL, hopefully enough to ask for a trade to the Pats.

Awful move by Pettine, I bet he loses a portion of his locker room over this.

Pettiness LOL.

And this is why BB never throws players under the bus.

He learned coaching from Rex Ryan. No need to say anything else.

No good comes out of airing out your issues in public. He thinks he is being frank, but he is destroying his own cornerstone.

Well, BB threw Brady under the bus re: deflategate and now Brady hates his coach. [sarcasm]

Spell check changed that, I just noticed it, I wish I could take credit for that bit of wittiness, but I can't
I've always suspected auto correct has special powers. :D

Also he doesn't respect cheaters, although his GM is not a cheater in his book.

He does respect losing.

His owner is apparently not a cheater, either, despite the fraud investigation and $92 million fine.

To get a job in the league, Pettine quit his job, cashed in his 401k, and lived off that while he worked as an unpaid intern with a team. That would be a cool story except he never told his wife about his plan and lied to her for almost a year about what he was doing for work. Not surprisingly, they're no longer married.

Haden should demand a trade to the Patriots immediately...o_O

Sounds like it was a pain tolerance issue. Coaches discussing them is something that happens all the time, especially when it involves ribs.

Interesting wording choice by Pettine: " ...didn't want to go.", vs. something like "...wasn't able to go.". Big difference. Saw it was also pointed out by a commenter.

To summarize, he is a liar who deceived his wife for a year, he works with a GM who is an admitted cheater, he works for an owner who is a fraud, and he doesn't respect Tom Brady, who was accused of deflating footballs but there is more evidence suggesting his evidence than guilt and a federal judge mocked the the complete lack of any evidence.

No surprise this hypocrite POS came from the rats. How the F do the Clevland Browns run their operations and personnel decisions? How is this loser possibly qualified as head coach for an NFL team? Just listening to him brings back memories of Mike Tice.

Yeah, I didn't think twice about it either, particularly when the league is breathing down his throat about the "probable" designation.

I can't be the only one to Google Haden's contract just in case... :D

FWIW, it would be pretty tough for Cleveland to move him because of the dead money, but if Haden is pissed off enough, they might not have a choice. He's in year 2 of a 5-year, $67.5M extension with a $16M signing bonus which would accelerate, making it tough to do anything this season. They might have enough room to accommodate a trade, but it would be tight.

But next year might be a different story. His dead money would only around $10M to the Browns, with the cap going up. His salaries would be around $10M-$11M for the next 4 seasons. Next year is guaranteed for injury, while $4M of 2017 is also guaranteed and can apparently become fully guaranteed for injury (not sure how). But that's a pretty good price for 4 years (27 to 30) of a top-tier corner who plays almost exclusively man-to-man.

Even if the Cap goes up dead money still hurts.
